Edit: Any experience with UVTs made by American-owned companies?

I searched for American made UTV's and these are what came up.

Polaris
John Deere
Arctic Cat
Odes
American Landmaster
Mahindra
Cub Cadet

Anybody have any experience with American made UTV's aside from Polaris? Looking at the smaller ones (comparable in size to a Pioneer 500).

Edited original post - what about US-based companies?

Not sure what your main purpose would be but I did study a bit on the mahindra before I bought a UTV. I almost bought it. They’re built a lot more heavy duty than most of them. Not as fast but built heavy. I ended up going with the ranger. You said aside from that but what tipped the scale for me was I know a lot of people with rangers and see tons of them during hunting season. For me it was the feedback from people I know plus seeing so many that people were using that led me to believe that they’d be good for what I’m doing. So far so good.

not one of those has an engine that isnt made in SE asia american made doesnt mean anything anymore should say american assembled. buy japanese no reason to keep supporting american made products until the free market drives them to build a quality product worth buying. im all for buying american when the quality is there other than that they need to step it up or go under, stop with all the bailouts most businesses fail for a reason. supporting a company that produces a POS out of patriotism only encourages them to keep up the subpar performance you cant just slap an american flag on a turd and pass it off as a gold bar. the name at the top of your list is proof of that i dont think ive ever heard more than 2 people have anything good to say about polaris and the ones that do only say it to make themselves feel better about owning one you if you tell a lie long enough you start to think it may be true.

Were they not rebranded at Tracker at Bass Pro?

Arctic Cat built a hell of a machine in 2004-2005. 650 had a Kawasaki motor in it that would make stupid power. I had two. BRP had decent atvs but that Rotax motor was the cat's meow!

Thanks guys. I probably know more folks with Rangers than any other brand with the Hondas right behind them.

I wish Polaris would put an engine brake/descent control in their smaller rides, but I know you can work around that.
Would be nice if Honda would put some kind of bed on the 500.

I was mistaken about the Cub Cadet, their UTVs are made in China; I guess their lawn-stuff is US made?

Doesn’t Polaris make most of there engines in the USA. They are also the only American company in that list are they not. Seems It is the most American UTV ATV you can buy. Sure are a lot of folks that are all for American made until they go and spend there own money. Buy you a Polaris

I hope they don't ever quit making kawasaki engines, where ever they are made.

Not sure. Had a Polaris atv and utv. Ok but I think Polaris needs to back their products better with warranty. If I ever buy another atv or utv it won’t be a Polaris. I hear some dealers don’t even want to service older models which is bs.

I don't know about warranty. But some of them (like the Razr) is damn near impossible to work on.
I think they set up the engine and transmission, then build everything else around it. You have to completely disassemble the Razr for just a minor repair.
