Have we always had a hog problem? Seems like it's a relatively recent thing. What caused it? Hogs have been in the US for nearly 500 years. First explorers brought them here.

Have we always had a hog problem? Seems like it's a relatively recent thing. What caused it? It is their reproductive rate that causes problems. Their population can explode if not kept in check. - 8 months old - start producing offspring - 1.5 litter/yr - ~8-12 piglets per litter - year round breeding, there no "rut"
