I have a room in my shop that is 130sqft that I would like to keep somewhat dry and climate controlled so I can put my hunting stuff in there. Shop is open air so it gets damp in there at times. Room is insulated and have the option of a window unit. Not somewhere that I plan to spend a lot of time but if I am gonna put bow, range finder, boxes, etc in there I need to keep it dry and somewhat climate controlled.. Would be nice to have something you could set to keep it between say 45 and 80degrees and not add $50 a month to power bill. Any suggestions?

I've got the same kind of setup in my shop. End room has two doors and one window. I am putting in a small thru wall a/c unit and a small wall mounted electric heater. May add a dehumidifier if needed.

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

Dehumidifier is another option I thought of and may have to have both.

Keep a few bags of silica gel and refresh them every so often.

I have 2 freezers in my shop and I think they help.

I have a Fridgidaire portable dehumidifier that was bought to keel my garage down in Chokoloskee dry. It has a water catch bin or garden hose drain option. I use the hose and set it for a few hours each on a separate timer and it is the read deal. Garage stays bone dry and cool in the Summer.

I would get a mini split I think some decent ones are down under $1k range now. You are just kinda done with it at that point.
