I will be there next week and I just like to fish. Any pointers for bank fishing or any inshore guides anyone would recommend? Will most likely just be me by myself.

Joseph Weaver-Wave Cutter Charters. Good guy, my sis graduated with him. He posts all the time on facebook the catches they have. If you just want to fish off the bank, go down toward Ft.Perkins. Reds and Pompano and others. We fished there last year off the bank and caught some small reds but that was it.

Use search and put in your title, there was a thread a while back with the exact same title with good info in it.

I saw it, just was not sure how much 45 days may have a change on the fish species... I am not saltwater guy by no means.

Fishing from the beach- tie or buy some double-dropper rigs, use pink fish bites on a smallish circle hook. Pompanos are still there.

We go down 5 or 6 times a year and I surf fish pretty much every day for a week each time.
I have 2 x 9’ surf rods and 1 x 7’ rod. I use dropper rigs in the 9s and Carolina rig the 7. One 9 goes out as far as I can cast, the other closer and the 7 I use to find the whiting which are usually within 75’ of the beach. Tie your own rigs, cheap and easy. I normally use 1/0 circle on the 9s and #6 bait holders on the 7. I use fishbites with a small pc of peeled shrimp most of the time. Sometimes I use a spoon on the 7 at daybreak for spanish, blues, lady fish etc.... I do use lady fish as cut bait on the 9s quite often. Buy your shrimp at the fish market it is better than the bait shrimp. Target fishing 1 hr each side of the tide and fish the rip area,

Thanks everyone. We have access to beach on the bay and gulf side, Portofino Resort. Going to look around tomorrow and see what I can find. Would love to find a guide with a smaller boat since it would just be me.

There is some good wade fishing right behind Portifino in the sound. Plenty of speckled trout and redfish in that area. Top water works good in the early morning.

I’ll be there the last 10 days in September.

You can usually get an inshore guide for 4 hours for around 450.00. This time of year find one that will fish at night or you are throwing your money away. Night trips you will mainly fish dock lights but you should do well. If you bow fish they may do a combo night bow fish and that is fun. You won’t believe the number of stingrays out there.
