Tordon, tordon K. I like to add imazapyr but don't use it if you want to save any young trees.

Have killed it with roundup and it works ok but reapplication is a given. Disclaimer: my mix for this is very hot. Been a minute with Arsenal but think that is what I used that smoked the kudzu. Looked it up and it was Tordon that I used. Arsenal was for another project.

When we bought a house 4 years ago, one side of the rear yard was completely overgrown / out of control with English Ivy. There was a chain link fence bordered with 8 huge Leyland Cypress trees (for real, these trees are probably 18"+ diameter and 40' tall). That ivy had grown about 8-10 feet up those trees and over/through the fence into the neighboring yard. I bought some kind of stuff from the Co-op, cannot remember the name to save me, but I'd prob remember if you said it.... it might have been "Crossbow". Anyway, it had a MASSIVE strong chemical odor and left absolutely scorched earth. I was dumb and used a sprayer to spray all that ivy, not considering runoff or the affect on those cypress trees. There still isn't much grass within 10' of that old weedline, and as of today two of those cypress trees are 100% dead, and the remaining 6 are patchy dead. Granted, there was a terrible drought that year and I saw tons of old, large cypress trees die all around our community, but I have to wonder if it was really the weed killer.
Anyway, I 1000% guarantee you that Crossbow(?) stuff will kill it graveyard in days!!....along with everything else around. LOL

Grazon Next HL, Milestone, or Tordon would be best before trees and then after pine is planted switch to Escort and just keep it best back until the trees get up enough to slow it down. I always try to treat kudzu two years in a row before trees go in the ground.

Get a couple of goats, they will eat every piece of it right down to the ground. Yeah but then you have goats. I'd rather have kudzu.

Boil it like collards. Add some pepper jelly.

It burned it up and it looked dead but did not kill the roots. same thing with glyphosate. It will scorch the leaves but come right back.
