and IF masks work, why does Huntsville Hospital have near 200 staff out of work with Covid 19?

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

wiley i am new here just joined recently.long time stalker.have really enjoyed reading and keeping up with the deer hunters especially.the mask we wear in hospitals while taking care o covid patients are different than the ones you see everyone wearing . all the other nurses wearing regular mask.fox news had a interesting report on this last night. we wear n95 mask and suit up like we just made a lunar landing when taking care of covid patient. big problem with nurrses catching it is when you take care of a patient for a week before they realize patient has it.

Take notice of the folks who wear scrubs in public. The majority I have seen do not wear masks. If they don't think it's a necessity, I sure don't. I personally know several nurses and a nurse practitioner. None that I know of that wear a mask if not on the clock.

Not everyone who wears scrubs works in a hospital or medical clinic, either. The staff at our veterinary clinic, dentist office and eye doctor's office all wear them. I have seen folks who groom dogs and work in day cares also wear them. So, don't base your thoughts on wearing or not wearing a mask yourself on just seeing folks out in public wearing scrubs while not wearing a mask.

Because the mask doesn’t prevent you from getting it. It’s to help prevent you from spreading it. When taking care of Covid patients were supposed to completely suite up with n95, gowns, gloves, face shield, hair shield etc. the surgical mask is worn in patients rooms who we suspect don’t have Covid and as stated above that’s not always the case.

So what you're saying is the "masks" dont work. So no need in wearing them. Gotcha

The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

True, At the hospital I work at everyone wears different colored scrubs depending on what department their assigned to. Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Respiratory, Therapy, Admitting clerks, Medical Records, House Keeping, Dietary(Kitchen), some of the Gym staff and so forth. Maintenance, Security and the Hospital Administrator are the only ones that do not.

What I want to understand is if the mask doesn't keep you from getting it. Then how does it stop you from spreading it? To me that's saying that it can get in but can't get out. Doesn't makes sense to me.

Right, basically only wearing and being properly fitted for an N95 mask and suiting up for a lunar landing is effective, hell otherwise they'd just throw on a mask that Matilda down the street knitted up. The masks have just become a symbol to most folks wearing them, like "I'm more compassionate than those non mask wearing a-holes. Sure, there are plenty that are wearing them for THEIR OWN safety and they have every right to...but don't force them down everyone else's throat. I'll tell you this, if you even think for a second you have Corona, your ass doesn't need to be out and about in public places "wearing a mask b/c you are protecting others." Uh, no, you don't give a chit about others.

The idea behind it is to keep the droplets that you exhale, more importantly sneeze or spit out, from traveling as far as without wearing a mask because the droplets carry the virus if you have it. At least that is what I understand. So, if you and another person both wear a mask, then there are two barriers to help prevent the droplets from each of you reaching the other.

I haven't talked to a single MD who thinks mask ordinance is a good idea. I'm sure they are out there, just like there's probably a reasonable news anchor out there.

The evidenced based data says masks don't work for viral particles, the infected or the non-infected. We have decades of data proving this.

The lawyers are running the show.

It does not completely stop the spread. Yes particles can still get through the mask. It’s supposed limit how far the air particles travel.

The simplest example I can give is light a candle and put it in front of you, it’s easy to blow out the candle without a mask. With a proper Working mask you shouldn’t be able to blow out the candle.

And before any of y’all give me hell Im not shaming anyone from wearing a mask. I don’t give a chit what you do. I’m just telling you what they taught me in nursing school. I have been wearing a mask in public places since February. I’m not doing it because the government is making me. Y’all do what you want

I work 60-80hrs a week as a nurse. First thing I do when I walk out of the hospital is take off my mask. I find every excuse to not put one back on. When I’m home in Alabama I have yet to wear a mask anywhere. I refuse to do it.

My dog licks her butt, rolls around in dead things, and eats everything that she can catch. She never gets sick.
