If you want your kids to go to school, they go to school. If you want them to stay home and do virtual school they can do that. We’ve been having football and wrestling practice all summer. Our system really doesn’t care what other people do.

No athletics at this time is what I have been told.

My son is on the wrestling team and they haven’t been allowed to do any work outs all summer.

I forgot to mention in my original post that K-6 will go everyday.

7-12 can choose to stay at home and home school. All of our kids 7-12 get a MacBook Pro to take home throughout the school year. It won’t be much different for them compared to what they dealt with since March.

I’m hoping they will come to their senses and let things go back to normal but I’m not counting on it.

I am impressed and wish more school systems would do the same

Fellas this country is making its final laps around the bowl before going down the crapper. I dont think things will ever be back to normal. Were in too deep to turn back. I dont enjoy saying these things, but after a few hours alone to reflect on my thoughts, the conclusion ive come to is the old U S of A is going to hell in a handbasket at an ever increasing pace and theres not enough good people here to mash the brake pedal.

Sending them back to school. Refused online learning. No way with us both being essential workers one doing 12 hour shifts 5 days a week and me working away for weeks at the time could we keep on top of things. Teaching wasn't my career choice. If we catch it we just catch it like everyone else eventually will. I believe the government is molding the next generation of voters with all this mess to play into their communist society they want us to be in. No way do I believe there isn't a hidden agenda going on here.

Exactly what every school system should do. If a teacher, staff member or child is high risk, they had handle their situation differently.

Scottsboro city schools laid out about 1 bazillion different options. My kids will go back as full time as the school allows. My almost 2yo has been back at daycare since aunt b allowed em back and daughters been at a daytime summer program and far as I know both programs are doing good with typical numbers of healthy kids and a few snooty noses here and there I'm sure.

The problem will be when either a teacher, custodian, lunch room worker, or someone like that tests positive. Then the real panic is going to set in. Do they close the lunchroom for 2wks? Who teaches the class? Do those kids go home for 2 weeks? How about the bus driver? These are the things they are trying to work out.

Our will open. The kids need to get this virus and it will rip through them like wild fire.

That's a good thing. We'll beat covid as a society a lot faster with the kids immune systems tearing it up.

My three will 100% be back. They've already been at tryout camps and workouts the last few weeks.

Just send the teacher or lunchroom worker home until they are negative just like with any other sickness. This virus is not a threat to children

I know Grissom is still having football practice.

They also gave the teachers a template of a 9ft circle and told the teachers to figure out how many of them they can fit in their classrooms. I think the average was like....7....

They are making it too difficult. Do core subjects only - English, Math, Science, History. Four classes a day. Five days a week. Use all the empty classrooms and split the class size down. Kids stay in one classroom all day. Use the other teachers to supervise and assist in the core classes. Lunches delivered to the classroom. Assigned bathrooms. Breaks staggered so the minimum number of kids are out at one time. No after school activities or sports. Or just let them all back in and those compromised will get sick. There's really not a good way to do it.
