Dang. RIP Charlie. I imagine he’s playing that golden fiddle as we speak.

Dang. One of my favorites. Talked to him several times. As humble a man as you would ever meet.

I think he is the only artist I have seen twice. The first time was in 7th grade when I attended Mt. Juliet Junior High School (Mt. Juliet, TN) the same year that his son was in 9th grade. He came and put on a show in the school gym that all the students attended at some point during regular school hours. That would have been the 1981/82 school year. The next time I saw him was at the First Monday Trade Days grounds in Canton, Texas in the late 90s I believe. I sure enjoyed both. I reckon he is shredding a bow in Heaven now.

First concert I ever saw. Don't remember the year but it was better than 40 years ago. RIP Charlie.

I didn’t know him personally, obviously, but he came across as a good Christian man and a good American.
