I’m looking at switching to the Rem 7-08 core-lokt because most of my shots are way inside of 200 yards and they are usually cheaper and on the shelf. I don’t know if this particular rifle will like them yet but am going to give them a try.
I do know the projectile is made by Hornady as well as the Accutip
What’s y’alls experience or recommendations for this round?
My regular round in this rifle is Federal 150gr Hot-Cor at 2,700fps which I always have to order
Thankee

Worst bullet ever to me is a fusion on deer. I’ve had them just drill pencil holes through deer at close range. They are great on big game and hogs though. The 140gr flavor is what turned me to the 150gr Powershock, performance was like night and day.

You can't beat a soft lead point. Been killing stuff for a hundred years. No need to fix what ain't broken.
My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

Fusions are too hard for a good expansion in a high Sectional Density projectile on deer in my experience. The Rem pills always worked good but just wondering about the 7-08

I have used 140 grain Cor-lokts out of the 7mm-08 that I own for years. Never had a problem. Standard cup and core lead tipped bullets work perfectly fine if not launched at magnum velocities.

Heck, the discussion is irrelevant now as I ordered 10 boxes of the Fed 150 gr for a darn good price. I ordered 10 boxes of these from Palmetta last fall. They don't shoot nearly as well through my Tikka as Core-Loks do. Core-Loks have done great on deer. Core-Loks are my go to rounds.
I can't stand a thief.

On Aldeer.com whitetail deer have shoulder bones that rival Level IV ballistic plates. Don't know how a Core Lokt could kill one. Would not be possible.
In the real world, however, a 140 cup and core will kill the crap out of a deer from a 7mm-08. Great Round.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.
