Pros and cons? Not many Pioneer 700-4’s out there they are hard to come by right now.
I’ve heard they’re hot inside the cab, and haven’t really looked at the Polaris I’ve just never been a big Polaris fan.

If you go Honda, get the 1000. I can say that the back area gets a little warm if you're a passenger back there. They added some heat shields in the newer models I think, but you're still sitting right over the motor. With the seats folded up, you pretty much have no storage in the back at all. If you're looking to haul 4 passengers and gear all the time, the pioneer isn't the best at that.

I have a pioneer 1000-5. I went with it over anything else because of the seats folding down. I need a 4 seater right now, but won't later. I love that it isn't a mile long. It's cool as can be in ther front. Ther back seats are a little warm. The transmission takes a little getting used to, but it does what it's supposed to. If im not mistaken, the 700 only has a 3 speed transmission and no low or high range selector, just drive and park. Rangers are good machines, but no one competes with Honda if you want a five seater that is still somewhat compact.

I was thinking about a pioneer 700 until I sat in one. I'm a big boy and it was so tight that my knees were touching the dash.

I live our Pioneer 1K5. I'm a fan of the bench seat upfront, and the rear seats are great for the kids. Its pretty sweet to fold them down out of the way.

You will need a bed extender if you plan on using it with the seats up. Honda in Brookhaven has the best price within 4 hours. I've had mine for 3 months and have put bed extender, switches, rear lights, and winch.

That's why I went with the Ranger a few years ago. I'm 6'-4" and the Pioneer 700 was cramped for me. I bought a 570 XP, which was only made in 2015-16, and have been VERY happy with it. The price difference between it and the Pioneer 1000 was several thousand dollars and I don't regret my decision at all. Not bashing Honda, they make great machines. I have a '95 Fourtrax 300 and it's one of the most indestructible machines ever made.

I have the Honda 700 and its awesome for hunting and just general chores around the house. At my camp house I can haul around 4 people easy with the seats folded up. My buddy has the Ranger 900 and he says my Honda has better suspension. If I was needing a side by side for farm work or to ride all day, i would probably get the Polaris. The motor does get a little warm but during hunting season its actually kind of nice.

Which ever one you choose get a winch. I have used mine a ton. More than I thought I would.

I went with a Ranger 500 partly because it was less expensive, and partly because I already had a 5' wide trailer. It works great for me and it has a dump bed unlike the Honda 500. I use it around the farm most every day. I have nothing bad to say about either of them I still have an old 97 model fourtrax 300 that is great and I now have a 2019 Ranger 500 that I like equally well.

The Honda is quiet and has fantastic suspension. I like the Pioneer over the Ranger and have used both a lot.

I'm pretty sure they're both made in the US.

For some reason I thought Polaris’ headquarters was in Canada. But you’re correct.👍Minnesota.

For some reason I thought Polaris’ headquarters was in Canada.

They have a manufacturing plant west of Huntsville. It’s quite impressive. I’ve seen it all inside and out. They make the slingshot there.

I have a 2014 Pioneer 700 and have not had any issues with it. I was concerned with it being the first model but only had one recall and it was to change a skid plate. I’m 6’ 4”” and it’s a little tight on the leg room and it does get warm under the seat. What attracted me to it was the shaft drive and bench seat. I use it for hunting and piddling around pretty much. It can go about 40 mph but that’s more than I usually do anyway. I don’t usually recreational or trail ride either so it’s not a big deal. Going from a 400 Foreman to 700 Pioneer was a little adjustment, mostly the automatic transmission and the machine weight. The 1000 was not available then but I would look at them now. The few that I have seen appear larger and I don’t know about the ergonomics of them. It is assembled in South Carolina but of course is based out of Japan. Bottom line, it’s a Honda
Polaris has came a long way (from what I’ve heard) since years ago. Most ride smooth and faster if that’s a feature that you would like. The belt drive was a concern for me but I haven’t heard of major issues with them lately. I do like the fact of Polaris having a site in North Alabama now. I’m sure they the Ranger is a good machine based on the numbers out there.

All this and $2 might get you a coke....
