Just got word that two my in-laws family in Peru died from the COVID. Older mid 60's Native Americans with health problems in a densely populated environment with poor general health care facilities. They were very nice and kind people. Sorry to hear about that Skinny. Prayers Sent for the rest of the family.

MAN, I thought the Gonorrhea parties we used to throw in college were edgy. These kids say hold this beer for a minute old fella.

They were very nice and kind people. I’m very sorry to hear that Skinny. There’s a missionary couple in our church that have a church in Peru. They are currently not allowed to go back into Peru and are stuck stateside. They said the COVID situation is pretty bad down there, and given the economic lockdown and poverty etc it’s that much worse on the community. We have taken up a special fund to send down to help. Hope the rest of your family down there can stay safe.

My son (21 years old) & a coworker ( mid 50s) of mine both have tested positive for COVID-19. Neither feels bad but have almost completely lost smell and taste. My wife tested positive for the Covid almost 5 weeks ago. Had a couple of days were she was real tired and bad headache. Completely fine other than that and she still can’t smell or taste anything. I was beginning to wonder if I had it, but our Beagle farted at the foot of the bed and it was awful. Guess I'm OK.

There aint no UPS to deliver stuff and folks have to interact face to face just to do daily routines.

Tuscaloosa will quickly become the best place for our elderly and immuno-compromised to go. When they burn out the immunity curve, everyone not exposed will want to be there.

We got everything wrong. This is the only time ever I know of that we quarantine the healthy. The young healthy people need to go ahead and let it happen, while we protect the vulnerable. Good move on there part, as long as they are ready to make sure that they do not spread it to people that are likely to have serious problems. And that is the heart of the problem...."Good move on there part, as long as they are ready to make sure that they do not spread it to people that are likely to have serious problems". Key words "as long as" The younger people are very low risk and they as a group are not taking things as seriously as they should because they are young and think subconsciously that there is nothing really to worry about. It's really a maturity issue...thinking about consequences, even unintended or accidental, 2-3 weeks down the road just simply is not on their radar. About anything, much less Covid19. It's "living in the present" mentality, which isn't a necessarily bad thing because living in the past or only dreaming about the future can be problematic too...but too much living in the present moment, only, removes forward thinking and strategic planning and an awareness of connections to others not realized today. It's not just the young, but middle aged people who don't get the accidental spreading to the elderly and compromised people. That mindset fuels behavior that is very self focused, self important, self centered, and self instant gratification oriented. Bottom line is take precautions that are reasonable to keep yourself and your family/friends healthy as possible...remember that both actions and inactions can have serious consequences to others who are vulnerable. Consideration of others before yourself is a rock solid Biblical message.
