The washing machine thread got me thinking. How many years have you had your oldest household appliance?
Saturday will be 26 years for our washing machine. Easy to remember as it was a wedding gift.
Kenmore from Sears with no bells or whistles. It has survived two daughters and a lightening strike.

Probably jinxed myself now, but that $500 pair was money well spent.

The simple stuff is what lasts forever. All the fancy crap falls apart.

My childhood home had a fridge for probably 30 years. I filled up ice trays 3,782 times while living there......

Mine is an upright freezer my parents bought when we moved into the house I grew up in 1981. They gave it to me 10-12 years ago and have been through 3 chest freezers that died on them since.

I have a kenmore fridge that is 21 years old. Still makes ice and the door dispenser still works.

The oldest appliance in my house was bought when I bought the house back 8 or so years ago.

My wifes grandfather has an oven in his house that has to be original to the house. I'm guessing the house was built in early to mid 70's.

Probably my beer fridge down stairs at the house in Trussville. It's a Kenmore. A simple side by side. I think it's 22 years old. It homemade beer in there that is at least 12 years old. I had a bottle the other day and it was better than when I made it.

Don't expect that from a Kenmore again. The stuff they put out now is crap. I guess they weighed selling good appliances that lasted for years vs. putting out crap and crap won.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

It's a mute point, to discuss the best made appliances. They don't make any of them anymore.

My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

But why? Surely they understand people will spend good money for something that’s made well again...

GE fridge bought in feb '95. The simple washer and dryer i bought at the same time gave up the ghost 2 years ago. Believe they were magic chefs?

No doubt and dryer died long ago. Have had 3 dryers since then. 7 years if you are lucky.

Yeah. I gave $125 for it and it was in great shape , but I thought I paid too much laugh. Prolly best 125 bucks I ever spent.

21 years...I bought a top/bottom refrigerator from Montgomery Wards when they were going out of business back in 99. I was in the process of buying our first house and got a bunch of our furnishings there. Once our first daughter came along, the refrigerator wasn't large enough with all of the bottles the wife made up, so I bought a side by side fridge and gave the other to my in-laws. They are still using it as an extra fridge in their laundry room
