Yeah, I don't think they allow you to give blood if you have cancer.

Dammit, this kind of thread just pisses me off. cancer is not gonna wait for you to be led by the hand to better treatments. Your economic status is irrelevant. we had a member here that was unhappy with his treatment and went to MD Anderson. The problem is, he waited too long and it took him before they could do anything. For someone that claims to make this short, you failed. Get off your ass and make it happen. Only you can do it. Cancer and time waits for no man, if you need someone to hold your hand and go to Texas with you, I'm available after next Tuesday after my chemo. if you don't like blunt talk TS, you know I won't sweet talk you to do something common sense has been screaming at you. Now get on the phone PAUL !

Yeah, you’re right. That wasn’t short at all. I should make my own decisions. Nobody ever gave me a goddamn thing. I sacrificed and I earned all of it the hard way. I don’t need my hand held or my ass chewed. As a matter of fact, I don’t need ANY advice, period. I don’t need sweet talk but don’t you EVER talk to me like a dog. Have a good life and get lost. Forget this thread and even that I existed. Forget I ever brought up Cancer. That clear enough for ya?

I’m out.

Sent you a pm with other suggestion to consider. My number in pm if you want to call me. I know a great hematologist oncologist down at Cleveland by me.

You give blood a lot for tests, but you can't contribute blood or organs.

Sure you can. Once it's done and you get your cookie/orange juice then tell them. May have to drive around a bit to do it multiple times. Giving blood causes the body to make new blood. New blood is better than old blood.

Or go to Mexico and get any treatment you want.

Go to Houston! I went upon the urging of my Dermatologist to get my foot in the door at M. D. Anderson just in case the Doctor here didn’t have a treatment plan for me. I met with a specialist for Melanoma. I asked them how many cases such as mine they see (5 or 6 per day ) Go and get a second opinion from the Rock stars of the cancer treatment world. I am glad I took the the time to get the peace of mind.

I’ll be flying to Houston for a consult ater the 13th.

Thanks for the replies and PM’s. Truly. I appreciate them.

A public forum is no place to discuss Cancer or weakness, and I won’t anymore. That was a mistake.

Don’t pray for me. I don’t waste my time doing it anymore.

Please let this thread die now.

Goodbye.

I grew up in Houston. You will be amazed at the difference in the medical facilities there versus the best ones we have in Alabama. It's not a knock against UAB, as they are one of the best in the nation facility wise, but Houston houses the best doctors in the world, including those at MD Anderson. World leaders send their sick to Houston to get better. Good luck my friend, you are making the right choice.

I didn’t see anything you posted as weakness. You are dealing with something most of use can’t imagine. I have no personal experience with MD Anderson. But, I do know a couple of people who have sought treatment there. One was successful in her treatment and one was not as his cancer was already past any treatment.
