Some of you just won’t understand, and may have some kind of feelings about it.
I kinda knew this day would come sooner or later. The other 3 wives took the news better than expected as I individually and lovingly spoke to them in turn about all the good times we had over the years, (and ironically, all the shots of leg with names long forgotten that they helped me get). Not surprisingly, they were and are each individually expressive in their own ways. They all sat there stoically while I explained I had noticed a younger woman that I wanted us to spend our lives with. It was bittersweet, and there was a lump in my throat the whole time.
My new Bride’s name is 28HD Martin. She, like all the others, (Gibson, Takamine, and another Gibson) will be keeping her name. I met her in a music store and knew right away she would be moving in with us several months ago. When I finally worked up the nerve to caress her long sensuous neck, she made a delightful sound that made me know I wanted her forever.
Wish us the best, I know we will make beautiful music together. She will move in around the 14th.
Now I’ve got to buy a nice hard case and some decent strings for her. The one’s on her in the store sucked. I usually, but not always, tend toward Ernie Ball products, but we will try several, as some guitars can be finicky.
Since this is a family site now, we won’t discuss straps.

Seriously, I tried the D-28, but the HD-28 was LIGHT YEARS ahead in bright, full tone from bass to treble

I tend to break miles of strings on Xlights, but I bend the HELL out of notes. I’m gonna mike these that are on her first and then decide. I’ll let her wear the ones on there for a week or so and go get some advice since this is not a regular 28 Martin. The last Regular D-28 I played around with was a 2017 model and this (28HD) is still a new animal to me. But fitting one up to your taste is half the fun.

Mr. Deadwood, please forgive me, and I know nothing will ever happen, but I am lusting after your new family member. I have several in my own family, sleek and fast Fenders and even a Martin of my own, but your description caught my eye. I’m ashamed.

I guess congratulations are in order. Any polygamist that can keep multiple wives happy has my respect and admiration.

Only 4? Amateur! Check out Justin Johnson in YouTube...That man can play a shoe if you pull the strings tight enough! He has guitars made of whiskey barrels, jerry cans, cigar boxes, shovels, you name it!...and he can play them all like a BOSS!
Seriously, though...congrats on the new bride!
Well behaved women never make history.~ Out back Quit laughing...I think I broke something.

One more question..does she swing? 🧐 No, but I’ll let her sit in your lap for a short bit for a small fee. You pay ME, not her, understand.

I’ve never bought an axe I thought I would outgrow, or become ashamed of, on purpose. Even as a rank beginner decades ago, I always thought I should buy the best equipment I could, even to learn on so that any mistakes made were MINE and not shabby equipment. Why would a beginner want to deal with two or three issues such as playing with a cheap guitar? If a rifle, for instance, CAN’T hold zero and instill confidence, you can never aspire to that weapon. The ONLY thing a guitar beginner should think about is improving technique, not crappy frets, a sorry nut, a weak neck, or cheap machine heads. It kills me when I see ads for “A Great Guitar For Beginners.” That is absolutely SCREAMING that you are going to have to buy another, better guitar later. Duh. JMO.

I grew up trying to play a d-28 that my grandfather had. It was supposed to be a family heirloom that I would get when he passed. He loaned it to a crackhead. He always saw the best in people. He never got it back.
