A friend of mine, against my best advice bought an Anderson AM 15. It was against my advice because he is a civilian and has no business with a military grade rifle even though he bought it with no intentions of shooting a person even if it was in self defense. It is purely a pig shooting gun. To be clear, he's a friend but I can't recall his name.

Now that the qualifier is out of the way, the problem is that I have no experience whatsoever in these horrible assault rifles. Anyways, it came with a picatinny rail built on the rifle. I'm trying to mount a Bushnell TRS-25 Red Dot on it. It mounts fine but the dot is too high and out of the scopes sight when held to my shoulder in a normal position. I can't lower the dot with the adjustments to bring it into my sight line.

It seems as if I need to raise the back of the rail but there is no way to do that since it was built on the scope. Anyone that knows about evil rifles have any ideas?

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Is the TRS flush mount or does it have the "riser" on the bottom?

Is it a cheek weld issue? Are you looking straight through the TRS?

I have a friend who picked up one of those Anderson Am 14s awhile back and he hasn't gotten around to fixing up a low power scope for it yet either - for coyote hunting of course,
so he was just asking me the other day the same questions.

So I will report back to him what is figured out here.

Didn't see any riser so it is flush mount.

Not sure what this means but when I hold the butt of the gun up against my cheek instead of my shoulder I can see the dot fine. Of course I would be on YouTube trying to hold the gun against my cheek to firing it.

If I had an evil black gun, it would likely be the same exact gun and red dot. I would probably put the red dot on a medium height riser which would cowitness the red dot with the BUIS I would probably have.

Say that again please. The riser is built on the gun unless you are saying that there is another riser that attaches to the riser on the gun now to make the scope sit higher? That would work I guess.

Something like this is what you need jawbone. Like Gomer said, it’ll raise your red dot up. You can also play with the placement on the rail because that will affect what your eye sees also

When in doubt, ask Aldeer.......No kidding. There is a lot of various knowledge on this board.

I'll tell my friend. wink

Edit: No problems found what I needed at Midway

This is the riser I went with. It's cheap, but it works fine.
