I am reminded of a mission trip I was on ten years ago in France, yes France, and we were doing soft evangelism to Muslims - handing out "the packet" of the New Testament, Josh
McDowell's "More then a Carpenter", Bible tracts of the Four Spiritual Laws, the Jesus Film, and other stuff packed into a big bag - all in multiple languages - French, Arabic, etc. - and we were working
in Marseille in the massive port where Muslims from North Africa cross back and forth every summer who have annual work permits to work in the EU. This was the "Project Northern Lights" ministry, which was a cooperative mission between the IMB of the SBC, the Jesus Film Project of the International Campus Crusade for Christ and the European Baptist Association.

At any rate, on the top of the mountain overlooking the bay and port of Marseille is an ancient and elaborate Roman Church.
That has a solid gold statue of Mary on the top of it.
It is a major tourist attraction.
Went up there one day.
There was so many false idols in that church it made me sick to the stomach.

I saw it, but could not factually confirm the event happened as the title indicated.
