Hang on folks, it won’t be long until they attempt, and succeed, to remove the phrase “Heart of Dixie” and the little heart off the Alabama license plates. Soon thereafter, if not before, there will be a push to change our state flag. The red “X” on our state flag represents St. Andrew’s Cross but is a vestige of the stars and bars from the flag of the confederacy. It’s coming.

Mississippi voters will have the chance to vote on any new flag design. As per the Jackson Clarion-Ledger: After (Gov.) Reeves signs the bill, the flag must come down within 15 days at government buildings around the state. Shortly after, a nine-member commission will be appointed by Gunn, Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann and Reeves to choose a new design, which must include the words "In God We Trust," and cannot include the Confederate battle emblem. Voters will then approve or reject that design in November. If they reject it, the commission would begin the process again. If they approve, the Legislature will ratify that design in the 2021 session, and a new official flag would fly next year. Legislators adopted Mississippi's state flag and its the Confederate image in 1894, nearly three decades after the end of the Civil War. Mississippians voted nearly two-to-one in 2001 to keep the current design. https://www.clarionledger.com/story...aw-remove-confederate-emblem/3273336001/

So in other words the voters really don’t have a say. Correct. They need to remember when they vote.

Should be a vote if the people. It’s been voted on at least twice in my 40 years, and an overwhelming majority wanted to keep it both times

I keep hearing that there will be a choice of a couple/few flags to vote on, with the one just removed as a choice. That "should" put the issue to bed, IF the one just removed isn't chosen, again. It won't be renewed, if chosen, and will open a bigger can of worms to deal with. Of course, there is a faction of citizens that in no way, shape or form want to change the flag containing the Confederate Battle Flag Stars and Bars.

I don't think they should remove it because of complaints from OUTSIDE agitators, the people of Ms have already voted TWICE to keep it. Fk those who want it removed now.

Aldeer needs a flag , camo background with an antlered skull . Make some good stickers . The Aldeer logo is already perfect. You don’t go changing a classic. Tell that to my home state

Mississippi ain't what it used to be. Ole Puss has turned into what may be the most liberal campus in the SEC.

Mississippi ain't what it used to be. Ole Puss has turned into what may be the most liberal campus in the SEC. Let’s not get carried away. Mizzou, UK, UGA, Vanderbilt, Florida all come to mind as obvious exceptions. And I don’t even like Ole Miss.

First thanksgiving she came back and told us about her diversity classes and d the 12 page paper she wrote on gender identity. I told her I could do the same with two sentences.
