We decided to make trip to Simmons Sporting goods today and good lord at the number of people buying guns. Several of their shelves for the pistols were bare. Stopped to talk to two of the employees and one of them said it has been like black friday for the last two weeks, they nearly ran out of AR's. While we were chatting there were 4 people in line to talk to the guy that handles the AR's . They had very little ammo. People are more scared now than when Obama was in office in my opinion. Crazy times

I was in there yesterday morning, pretty busy but not crazy. I only saw one Ruger semi auto pistol in the case, the pistol selection was thin to say the least.

I don't know that I would call it scared as much as I would say people see the need to be prepared, now more than ever before.

It's not driven by fear, it's just people finally waking up.

I’m so very glad that I was already ready before this crap started. All I’ve done this time was to buy more subsonic ammo

I was in Larry’s back in late March when things started getting crazy and he had a sign on his 556 ammo limit 3, I picked up 3 500 round bricks and started toward the check out. Guy sees me and says limit 3 and I looked down and said that’s all I got was 3 lol, he told me 3 boxes. Who the hell buys 3 boxes of 556? I didn’t really need to ammo I just usually pick up 1000 rounds or so whenever I’m in Hville 4-5 times a year.

Last time I stepped foot in academy was like 6 years ago in Montgomery.
I wanted 6 boxes of 5.56 and the so-called "manager" told me I could only buy one box.
He went on to explain that it was a "federal law". After I gave him a tutorial on federal law, I threw the ammo on the floor and walked out.
Never darkened the door of any academy sports store since then.

Not to detail this but let's talk about continuity of fire not firepower cause one hit is firepower. Do I wish I hadda bought the Mc2c which holds 13+1 instead of the Mc1sc 7+1? The little one hides better and shoots bigger than it looks. Call me old-fashioned but I'm thinking a hit or three will would solve the short term problem. Maybe we should just tote AR's& shotguns everywhere call it corona repellent.

People are scared. Why? Its covid and the election. Its BLM and antifa. Its police brutality and riots. Its democrats intending to restrict and criminalize firearm ownership. Its China and the possibility biden might be president with control of both houses. Folks have reason to be scared.
