We watched it as a family, and then re-watched it with some college folks at my house. Great film, IMHO.

It will probably make me angry if it belittles Christianity. I'm OK if it just exposes false teachings, of which there are many that I admit exist.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I’ll look that one up shiloh. What is it about in a nutshell? A new documentary on Netflix is stirring up controversy for its portrayal of religion, faith and Christianity in America. American Gospel, a 2018 film that arrived on the streaming service this month, is dividing viewers between those who think the film is “demonically inspired” and others who love the message it sends.
American Gospel explores the prosperity gospel, which is spread by preachers like Joel Osteen and equates faith with financial success. The film questions the health and wealth approach to Christianity and interviews preachers, experts and former followers. “Is Christianity Christ + the American dream? American Gospel examines how the prosperity gospel (the Word of Faith movement) has distorted the gospel message, and how this theology is being exported abroad,” the film’s official description reads.

I’ll look that one up shiloh. What is it about in a nutshell? It thoroughly explains different biblical prophecy. Mainly the book of Daniel. I don't think i can explain it without violating the new code of conduct....

Talks about what should be being preached (and is in a lot of churches) vs what is taught as the prosperity gospel which is false teachings

I’ll give it a look then. As my response on the Roy Moore thread may show, I don’t like people using Christianity to make a ton of money. Note that there is a difference between that and Christians that happen to become wealthy or preachers that make a living.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I'm getting hooked on Netflix documentaries, mainly b/c you can watch the whole thing in fairly short amount of time vs. a whole TV series. I just watched the one about Fyre festival last night, that one was pretty good. Other's I've watched recently are the Epstein one and Murder Mountain. I'll have to check this one out. That Frye island was pretty good, so was Epstein. I've been watching one about tanks, can't remember what it's called, it's pretty good if you like that sort of thing.

Just finished it, was pretty good.

It was good. I really liked the part and I paraphrasing where he said that if you are supposed to be preaching the Gospel and you give your sermon in a Jewish Synagogue or to Muslims and no one is offended, your are not preaching the Gospel. Really good show.

I’m only 1/2 way through but to answer your question, no. Quite the opposite. It lines up with what most of us believe. Unless you believe in Health/Wealth preaching.
