But I really like my $250 Ruger American in .243. I killed a deer with it first time I took it in the woods. It’s a fun gun.

My favorite is the same gun in 308. My sons is a 30-30 both have vortex viper 44mm glass on them

Ruger compact 7mm08 with a can on it. Even with the can it is shorter than most hunting rifles.

It changes as the wind blows. Currently:
East - 11" AR15 pistol with a lightweight brace in 6.5 grendel wearing a 4-16x40.
West - Howa 1500 in 25-06 wearing a 6-24x40.
Yard - Bug a salt 2.0 lawn and garden with safety mod, sight mod and laser using 120 grit garnet blasting media for the shot charge (almost twice as dense as table salt).

Sako L579 Forester Mannlicher Carbine in .308. It gets a ride along about once a year but my first deer rifle will always be my favorite.

Browning BAR Safari 30-06 with grade 3 wood and a Seeadler 4-12x50 #4 sitting in Leupold rings and bases.

It’s killed a whole heap of deer and hogs. I got it for Christmas when I was 12 and for years it had a Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 in weaver see through mounts.

I'm not overly drawn to any of my rifles over the others, but I am particularly fond of my granddad's Winchester m59 shotgun. Aside from the sentimental part, it's just a really cool gun. It's really light overall, and it's especially barrel-light because the barrel on these is a steel sleeve wrapped in fiberglass. This makes them swing really quickly - people either love them or hate them (obviously I'm the former). Also, it seems to defy physics. It's really light and doesn't even have a butt pad, just a hard butt plate, yet it's the softest-recoiling 12ga I've ever shot.

These pics are not mine, but it's identical, and in nearly-mint condition.

Ive got a 742 in 30-06 that has been mighty rough on the deer around here. When im not toting it I have a little youth model savage 223 that is four for four. The 223 fusion has absolutely destroyed the innerds of every deer weve shot with it, no blood but weve seen every one of them fall. Just bought a 257wby im looking forward to geeting acquainted with.
