How long before we start seeing counties renamed? Seeing has how in the south if a county doesn’t have a Native American name it’s more than likely named after a prominent civil war figure. Is it realistically possible?

Most of the counties in the South are named after 1812 figures, only a handful are named after Civil War figures.

Why don't we just go ahead and erase American history completely?
I mean if we haven't learned the basic lesson of history, then let's get on with the repeat.
The sooner the better.

Not a county (civil war figure) but Gee's Bend has been renamed for a long time. You know I've always wondered, just how many Pettways in Wilcox county know, where/who their last named came from

They wanted to rename it king alabama after mlk but dont know what became of that . Boykin is another name for there I believe he was a slave owner plus staunch segregationist area is really dying out younger generation moving to big cities. Yes I'm quite sure there was a pettway plantation according to records.

Yeah they call it Boykin now, and Joseph Gee was the Land owner. And yes several blacks took on the last name pettway, because the white man was so nice to them, and he eventually set them free...
