A couple weeks ago I cleaned up my turkey stuff and put everything away. While unscrewing my turkey choke to clean the barrel it was very hard to get started and get out. I don’t see any rust in the threads and they don’t appear to be damaged at all so what gives? I tried screwing several different chokes in and I had to apply more pressure on all of them. It just seems like everything fits tighter.
Have y’all experienced this? Are the threads in the shotgun damaged?

I've had cheap tru glow chokes get hard to come out but put another choke in and threads be fine on shot gun. Probably nothing to be too concerned about, I generally apply a dab of high temp anti seize for good measures. You could send to gunsmith during off season to make sure. I dont recommend leaving chokes out long because the barrel is very thin and can unknowing bumped and damaged easliy.

My m2 is same way. I figured the hot moa loads caused it. I’ll just keep shooting it till it quits

Foldemup, This is the first year I shot factory TSS loads and I figured that might have caused it. The choke is an Indian creek for what it’s worth.

Squeaky and myself both had Undertaker chokes swell up in our Franchi’s. We had to put our guns in a vise to get them out. The new choke screwed right back in though with no problem. We also were shooting the hot MOA loads.

Are you using any anti-seize on the threads ?? Never ever put a choke tube in without antiseize or high temp grease
When I need expert advice I tend to talk to myself The older I get the better I used to be

Did you clean the threads up good? Maybe some wad plastic in there?
Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

Mine is also an Indian Creek, I just don’t bother taking it out. Still works
