If it has the 6-speed transmission they can be somewhat clunky when shifting at times. I had one for about 6 months and noticed the clunk when slowing down for stop signs in the neighborhood the most. Other than that I liked the truck just fine.

We have a 2017 at work. I like a chevy and have seen no issues with it, but we only have 37K on it. It does have the transmission clunk mentioned above which I think is "normal" per chevy. It's up for sale on marketplace, but I think it is SPF. If something changes I will give you the info. My 2005 has the same clunk but it has 278K on it.

I have a 2016 and have had no trouble at all. The only issue was a recall was performed on brake system. I wasn't having the problem but they did the warranty work. It then had trouble and the parts they used were bad so they did the work again (free of charge) and now it's good to go. I have around 60,000 miles and pull trailer with equipment almost every day with it.

I have a 2017. I've been a chevy man most of my adult life. The last one I had was an 04 and I sold it with 317k miles on it and didn't have to do a thing to it. I don't see this one making it that long. I bought it with 65k and it now has 90k. I have to climb the mountain every day and it feels like the tranny is about to come apart when you go thru a hairpin curve. That fuel management crap is a joke also, my truck only gets 13 mpg. It's starting to act like its missing and I'm about to have it looked at for that.

I have a 17. Ive had a silverado since i could drive (3 different trucks). Hate to say it but this is the worst one yet. 52k miles, transmission sucks (can find gear half the time, clunks like a sob). Front end is shucks, already have ball joint issues. 12v AC plug in the console has never worked (keeps blowing fuses) . There's and issue in the steering column, when it gets hot outside it makes a terrible popping noise when turning. I do have a leveling kit and larger tires. If you plan on using it like a truck id expect to have issues, if you use it as a grocery getter it should be fine.

Wife has a 17 gmc with just over 100k now. Never been in the shop. Transmission clunks when its cold like everyone says. Navigation screen is starting to mess up, said it needed replacing for a couple thousand so its staying like it is for now. Been a good truck.

How high of a lift and what size tires didn’t you put on?

I have an 18 with 48,000 miles on it. I have had 0 problems. Got great mileage until I put a winch bumper on it. That cut the mileage. But, it is a truck and still gets better than any other truck I e ever owned.

look at the range device to disable AFM. I put it in my 07 and it quit using oil and drive alot better overall by staying in V8 mode. And i ran some fuel tests and my calculations showed the mpg going up when I installed it.

The a/c condenser will leak. Transmission will probably go out. Ball joints stay wore out.

I put a diablo intune i3 on mine. I turned off afm. Made the trans shift better, got a little better mileage and recalibrated the speedometer. It has 3’predone tunes or you can have a custom tune. Totally different truck now. I have a leveling kit and 34” tires on mine

I have a 17 Silverado Z71 with 68,000 miles. I pull a 27 ft RV bimonthly and I've had zero issues. I have also noticed the transmission trying to find the right gear twice but that's it I wouldn't trade it
