Just curious if anyone had any idea about the examination for a conservation enforcement officer as far as Study guides/practice test/ preparation for examinations.

I took it back in 85-86 and there was a booklet to study back then but don’t know about now

I took the test in 89. I recall studying the codes and a book on criminal justice.
They offered me the job in 91 but I was already making more money so I turned it down.

Oh I agree. Nobody can catch a poacher like a poacher. 😂
And yes they've hired some totally incompetent morons. Got one running the outfit right now!

I took the test last year, didn't study anything, scored high, and by the time I got the offer to push forward with it I had decided on a different career route. The test part is super easy if you've got a little common sense. Lots of reading comprehension stuff. I don't recall the actual makeup of it or what the questions were like but I do remember walking out of the building thinking "dang that was it?".

I took it a while ago. As coosa said, it’s mostly reading comprehension and basic math. There is a practice test on the states employment site somewhere.

They had upgraded to a chalkboard and abacus by the time I took it.

Does a black applicant receive a different exam?

State personell, will issue study guide and give study suggestions in the packet you receive for verifying test sight date and location. They will be doing all the hiring , they will do off this current register, won't be hiring any next year. Black applicants get the same exact test. Veterans get 5 bonus points

Most of the law enforcement tests like the CJBAT are pretty simple. Looking to see if you can think and reason a certain way. I know you can buy a study guide for the CJBAT. Pretty easy. Should be similar I would think.
