This is the type of summer rain that I remember as a kid in the early/mid 60s spending time at my Grandaddy's house when school was out. Seems like these days we have a drought and then multiple floods. Damn George Bush hurricane machine!

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

I really hate it for the row crop guys but I'm happy to see it at the same time. All day soaking rains are good for the pastures and hay ground. Next week looks dry but I doubt it'll dry out enough for folks to get seed in the ground. Gonna be a tough year for some folks. How much percentage have y'all got in the ground Matt? Talked to some folks this past weekend the had only about 25% of their corn in.

Farmers nationally and in the south are way ahead of schedule this year.

If the forecast for next week holds true, Saturday I'm gonna be laying down some hay.

Not all row crop folks are loving this. I’ve got fields it will be on up in June before I can even think about planting. Still have corn to plant and don’t have a single bean in the ground yet. I’ve been stuck so many times this spring I just started taking a extra tractor to each field just to pull out with. I have the worst looking corn crop I’ve ever had from all the cold wet weather.

That’s odd. We’re in damn fine shape from I65 west. Most corn is topdressed. Not all. But most. Beans are off to best start we’ve had in long time. Cotton getting its shank on finally.
