Why would the other three do nothing? Clearly they can see what's going on.

Is it the "thin blue line" protection? Don't snitch? Don't be a rat?

Why watch one of your fellow officers do this if, like has been pointed out, the guy was cuffed, on the ground and not resisting?

Major stores including Walmart, Menards and others have boarded their doors and windows, and moved items like pallets of dirt or other big items in front of doors.

Governor has activated the National Guard to respond.

Me. Clem, thats not the Thin Blue Line that most of our Brothers and Sisters of Law Enforcement live by. I call that the sorry yellow line. Like I said, it makes me sick to watch those officers just stand there and watch that person suffer the way he did and not lift a finger to help. We take an oath to Protect and Serve people, not stand there with our thumbs in our arses and watch someone get abused the way this person was abused. Those other officers are well all I’m gonna say is they are the bottom of the barrel. I have seen nothing yet that shows that man had to be treated that way. The only time I would agree with such actions is if a subject had gotten a officers firearm and it’s what he has to keep them safe. Got to make it home alive. I’ve seen nothing like that here. I really want to think most LEOs in that situation would have rolled that officers arse off that persons neck.

I just watched the video for the first time and I'm am so sickened! Some people just do not belong in LE...the guy obviously was out cold for several minutes. There was absolutely no need for a knee to still be on his neck.

I'm a redneck from South, Al and I support the Blue. I am a very nice, "Yes, sir!" and "No sir!", kinda guy to LEO's. I can tell you who LEO's worst group is... it's themselves!! I'm a white guy and I have had some LEO's be just plain ol' A$$holes to me. I have shown due respect and still, some of them have been..., just an ass! So blacks don't have a monopoly on having been treated poorly. This cop in MM needs to go to jail. Where's your training man? You can't do what he did. I hope this cop is found guilty of MS.

To the LEO's out there... just be nice to ppl. Being a cocky ass gets you nowhere!! And again, I support LEO's and I know it's not an easy job. But, you have to respect ppl.

Thanks mw/marshmud for serving humankind doing that job. Not to sound like a mallcop internet commando but I'm comfortable knowing I could've convinced that officer to remove his knee from that man's neck. Sure I'd face consequences later but a hard tackle or smooth trigger press would've saved that man's life.

Only hits count.

You are partly correct. I know there are LEOs that gave the power trip thing going on and are just assholes. Just remember, we are also humans and just like any other human, we also have the asshole switch. Some of us takes a lot to turn that switch on and for some the switch is stuck in the on position, just like every other human. I hate you had dealing with someone who’s switch was stuck on. If I’m dealing with someone, that subject determines if my switch goes to the on position. I treat you like you treat me.

Clem, the Thin Blue Line you speak of is largely an invention of coward officers to use an excuse for not doing the right thing. "If I tell the truth those mean boys will pick on me" Only an idiot would risk prison to protect a bully.

Past Ol’ man Finley’s plac...

The actions of that officer were inhumane and that video makes me sick. It doesn’t matter what the deceased did prior to the knee to the throat. Cops aren’t supposed to hurt people that are not a threat. That man was not a threat. Some of y’all seem to be ok with cops taking justice into their own hands after somebody allegedly commits a crime.

He didn’t deserve to be treated like that after he was cuffed and I hope the officer goes to jail.

I’ll also add that I hope and pray my children never put themselves in a position to be arrested. But if they do get into trouble, I hope they get their day in court and aren’t laying dead on the pavement because of some overzealous angry cop.

Cop committed a crime and should be punished. Animals looting and burning stores are committing crimes and should be punished. Pretty dang simple.

Agreed. The cops involved should go to jail for a long time. But Two wrongs don’t make a right. There could be meaningful criminal justice reform if these protests didn’t descend into riots every time but unfortunately that’s not the case and likely not the intent of those organizing the protests.

I agree 100%. Unfortunately that's the world we live in. If you listen to the video you hear the woman say "it's the whites" or something to that effect.
Sad this man died on the street like a run over dog.

Here we are living in the supposed stronghold of the racist, white South and every single person on this forum believes the cop was wrong.
At the same time, nearly every Facebook post and video like described shows that well over 90% of black people feel we are all a bunch of
white racists looking for every opportunity to hold a lynching.

Rioters have overtaken the 3rd Precinct and set fire to it after law enforcement evacuated the building.

They’re burning the police station down. Imagine them waking up at 2:00 this afternoon, checking the stock market or whatever and saying, “I aughta burn the police station down, they’ll never rebuild THAT”

Officers loaded up in all the vehicles and rolled out as rioters threw rocks and what looked like flash-bang bombs or other devices at them.

Marshmud, I always am very nice, truthful and respectful to LEO's. I respect LEO's a great deal and I understand that sometimes, split decisions means life or death of the officer his/herself. LEO's work under pressure, I know. But when I'm a nice and respectful to a LEO and he's still as ass, I don't have much use or respect for him. Unfortunately, you have too many asses that are LEO's. However, I still support The Blue 100%.

One other thing... I've instructed my children to always respect LEO's. And my kids know that if they get stopped by a LEO, I expect my kids to be polite and be respectful and do as the LEO asked. I just hope that my children are treated fairly and respectfully by LEO's. I am very much of a pure constitutionalist... please, do NOT infringe on my rights as a citizen of the USA. Especially if you are supposed to uphold and represent law and order and you are a sworn officer of the law. A lot of ppl feel like that. I'll fight you and fight you with no rules adhered-to if you infringe on my rights. A regular citizen could possibly get away with things in mistreating me... but not a LEO. I'm very sensitive to infringement of my rights by overzealous lawmen. I think most Southern men are.

Bottom line is that I respect what you do and I appreciate what you do and I support you. As long as you operate within the law. And, I'm sure you do. Hat's off to you!

Some one is gonna have to shut down rioters and make an example out of them eventually. Freaking ridiculous arrest them by the hundreds, increase the fines and jail time. Criminal reform needs to happen, stiffer/harsher penalties for criminal acts.
