Sold my Traeger, bought a Pit Boss. The Pit Boss is a much better machine for the money.

I have a Green Mountain Grill and am very pleased. It gets used weekly and has held up well. Holds constant temp +/- 5 degrees.

Help. I know nothing about pellet other than requires electric. Why do you guys even like pellet grills? I’m just curious as I understand you need electric for them. Doesn’t seem like something practical you can use without power during a hurricane like a propane or charcoal grill because it has to be plugged into electric. So that being said, what’s the advantage? People must like them for some reason. Why are they so popular? Thanks.

The big thing is that you get a very even and consistent smoke, and temp control is as easy as setting it where you want it. It is very nice to set your smoker at 225 degrees, or whatever you want, and be able to leave and go do other things and not have to be there to check the grill every 45 minutes.

I have the Pit Boss 1100 Pro from lowes, it's convenient as it gets. It does have hot and colder zones when cooking. The sear feature works ok and I've leaned to work with it after using a Green Egg for years and years. I prefer the Egg for grilling ,ore so but use the Pit Boss most of th time, it does a fine job and is convenient. Just make sure and keep it clean, the only issues I've had is when I didn't clean out the fire pot and it jammed.

Rec Tec and Camp Chef deserves mentioning.

Pit boss has a duel, pellet and propane. I have watched a few YouTube videos and everyone really likes them.

I like Jiffy cornbread.

with the stand up smoker built in.. kinda uneasy on it though

I’d use Joe Little in Decatur for that. It’s his specialty

Both. His company is called Lightning Services. If have a massive breakdown and need a good welder/fab in the field he’s the main man around these parts. His shop is in Decatur next to Hubbard and Drakes main shop
