BowtechDan, Inatree has one for $200 if he hasnt sold it. Its worth the money. Its not a big fancy one but I have one just like it and I havent regretted buying it and I paid a little more for mine. If you ever wanted to upgrade you could later. Nothing wrong with the one he has for sale.

Bought a Vibe Sea Ghost 110, my first kayak and it’s been a blast.

Kayaks are narrower and can get into places you would have difficulty going in a flat bottom boat. Thay are also much faster (unless of course you have a motor) than a flat bottom aluminum. They are also lighter and much easier transported. A kayak can go all day in 6" of water. Can also slide it over logs and stuff in a creek. No question about a flat bottom boat being more stable and comfortable though. Sort of like comparing a motorcycle to a pick up truck. I've rolled mine several times and and except for the one instance I was sliding over a beaver dam it was when I was getting in or out.

That all sounds reasonable. But floating down stream, I can't see that the kayak being faster is worth much. I guess if you were moving up stream it would help a lot.

Only if you go by yourself. If you go with someone else, you leave a vehicle at the take out point and then drive to your launch. Of course after the trip, you have to go retrieve the vehicle from the launch point. Or you have someone drop you off at the launch point and then come to get you later at the take out point.

The blue one on the right is the Black Bass 13. 500 lb capacity. The other is an Ascend FT10 which has a 325 lb capacity and a little wet for my preference. The seat is like the other one shown.

FYI we floated our local “lux” creek last weekend and it’s fairly slow flow for the most part. We were in a flat bottom and my son was in a kayak. I got him to get right beside us and see how fast he could go compared to us. There was no comparison, he took off like a jet, then came back upstream with no effort.
That’s when I decide to get us a couple. If it came up a storm and you were in a hurry, it would matter, and you will not go upstream in a flat bottom without some form of motor.

Almost finished with this removable rack for our trailer for ours. I agree with previous post about one at least 12 ft. I highly recommend the removable seats on the kayaks. Makes the ride a lot better on your back.

Bass Pro has their Ascend 12T Kayak on sale right now for $549. We had the 10T kayaks and they were a little small and wet and unstable. If I remember correctly the Ascend kayaks are made in the USA...

https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/ascend-100226604

I'm thinking about buying one, between my military discount there and $209 in rewards points I could pick up that one for $285 plus tax.
