Old Z-71 Silverado - extended cab.

What should it cost to repaint the hood and the roof?

No body work needed, just complete refinish.

More than you would likely want to spend unless you're actually restoring the vehicle, assuming you want a quality job from a reputable shop. My guess is the total would be about $2,500+/-
If you're talking about a spray(some paint) N pray(it sticks), under $1,000 I would imagine.

I know they get a bad rap, but a buddy had Maaco paint the faded hood and roof on his tacoma and it came out great. That was probably 3 years ago and it still looks good. I think they charged him $400. Dont know if they would all do a good job or not.

Why?
I've got two of them, both victims of the GM experiment with environmental friendly primer.
Both faded and rusted. Both still drive great. Doesn't affect performance or reliability. Doesn't bother me at all.

I hear ya!

But if I don't do something soon the hood and roof will start rusting and I don't want that.

Plus "I don't want no ugly truck", lol.
