Thinking of getting a bed cover for my GMC. I want something that either folds back or rolls back. I don’t want to give up my hauling space. Anyone have a Roll N Lock?

Got a friend has one of these , I really like it , wouldn't mind having one myself. Seals really well and has a tension adjuster .

I had one similiar to that in soft cover. In the winter it was a female dog to get back on. It would shrink in the cold.

I got this one. Be careful shopping prices, they DO make several configurations at lots of price ranges, so shop by Factory Part Number, not prices. They will support way more than 500 pounds and will lock anywhere you want it. I believe some folks make electric tonneau covers, but that’s just another potential thing to fail. Manual suited me. I’ve been satisfied 3 years down the road now.

Scoot by and you can see it for yourself if you want.

You can see the electric AMP Research steps while you’re at it. I needed those for my Dad getting in and out of the Tundra when he gets hauled back and forth.

Had a MX4 backflip and really enjoyed. Folded 4 times and allowed for full bed length and goosenecks

I’ve installed a bunch of roll n locks. They’re good covers and don’t leak if installed properly. But dang they’re expensive. Me personally if I were to put one on mine I’d do a hard tri-fold just as good and half the price.

This is what I have on my F150. Do like how it folds up against back window to allow hauling my Yamaha Grizzly in the bed. Seems pretty secure as well.

That URL I posted showed very little. I bought the aluminum non-electric version on this page, the Retrax Pro MX. You can browse it better here. I think I bought it from AutoAnything.com. I have the invoice on my computer somewhere.

I bought this one. Tri-fold soft cover that latches from the inside. You can lock the tailgate and it’s enough to keep an honest man honest. We’ve driven through a monsoon on multiple occasions with luggage in the bag and not a drop of water got in. Also, I can put it on or take it off completely, by myself, in just a couple of minutes.

Mine also has a lock on top close to cab that they set to work with your truck key.

I have a soft cover like this but it goes behind my tool box. It is the best of both worlds. And yes it leaks a little but I don't really care it keeps everything covered and dry enough I am not worried about it.

They are not common but they do make them. I have never seen many others. Thought I would mention it they do exist.

Great info guys, thanks. I’ll check out all of those.

Gomer, that’s interesting. So you can really take it on and off that easy? Does it fold up against the cab if you need it to?

you can fold it up, like the top pic that I posted above and it will latch down onto itself, and just lays there across the top of the bed, about the size of the lid on an average toolbox. but yeah it's a breeze to take on/off.

I was going to put it back on here in a bit anyway. I'll do a short video, installing it "live", so you can see how simple it is.

I have a Gator Hard Fold from Tonneaucoverworld. Was easy to install and you lock it up by locking the tailgate. Make sure you look at speed ratings. Some could not take interstate speed if opened against the window. These could. I have been happy with it, had one issue and they addressed it quickly.

Here ya go.....excluding the talking at the beginning, it took me about 4:30 to install it by myself, 1-handed.

(2 things of note: 1_I mentioned that the instructions technically tell you not to drive with it folded up/latched. That's incorrect, I think they just recommend not driving on the interstate with it folded up, but I do it all the time with no issues. 2_sorry for the video being portrait instead of landscape...didn't realize it until halfway through the video so I just rolled with it.)

So was it a must to cut the bed liner to make the clamps work? Not sure I’d want to do that
