My little Sav Mor Grocery in Calera has almost gone up two to three times the price per pound in less than a week. Almost $5.00 per pound on ground beef. $10.00 per pound on cheap bottom round roast that is usually around or less than $3.00 per lb. I get supply and demand and understand that the stores are having to pay a lot more for it, but at what point are customers not going to buy it? All this to say, how much does half of a processed cow cost, and where is the best place to purchase one around the Calera area.

I reckon if there aren't enough processors out there processing enough meat because of shut downs, they can somehow charge a crapload more per pound? That's why I want to buy one of, or at least half of a cow that they are killing and dumping.
