Yes and no. My "boss" is my father in law and he's almost 83...so climbing roofs, crawling a crawlspace and being on your feet in the heat for hours ain't easy on him so he defers all that to me. Plus he is not technology literate which is an essential skill in today's world. However, he's forgotten more about construction than most people actually have learned and he's got this unique ability to pinpoint issues...something I have been learning from him for 21 years now.

Yes for the most part. I’m very lucky to have a great boss man, but he’s starting to think about retirement. I’ll be sad to see him go.

I bet most employees think they could do their bosses job. Hell, most probably think they could do it better

Neither of us can do the other’s job. I struggle with the people aspect of his. He can’t even read the pictures much less the words describing what I do.

Well, since I am my boss, I guess I can. But, I can’t do my secretary’s job.

Current boss hell no. Old boss was better than me in some aspects and not as good as me in others. Some of what I do I could teach a monkey to do, but some parts only come from years of experience. There are very few around than can do what I can do and even fewer that can do it better.

My wife says she can anyhow.

My boss held my position at another location prior to his promotion. I feel he could do my job BUT with him being almost 8hrs away, I don't feel much of a threat of being laid off.
