Want to buy a gift for a family friend as “thank you” I know he’s a whiskey/bourbon drinker and recently mentioned that he likes Blantons but that it’s hard to find. What else is similar to blantons that he may like. I think Blantons is made buy buffalo trace but I’ve never had either one so I’m. It sure how similar they are.

Buffalo Trace or Weller would be nice if you can find them.

Agree withWeller’s- it’s about as close to the taste of Blanton’s that I know. Four Roses Single Barrel is a good choice and usually available at my ABC. Baker’s another good choice.

Honesty anything 90 proof or above is a good start. Wild Turkey 101 will be appreciated, Rare Breed is a good statement. Larceny Bourbon is a very nice sipping wheater and like previously stated Weller or Buffalo Trace is good also.

I may be a little biased as I live in Opelika, but Irish is spot on. I would give a second for the Woodford Reserve as well.

I don't know how you would get good water to make liquor from around Opelika but maybe there is some limestone around there. You can't make good bourbon without it..... maybe an interpretation of good bourbon but limestone filtered water is a key ingredient.
