Congrats Brandon and everyone else who has connected already. I was close to sealing the deal on Wednesday at the club in Marion County. He came in to around 60 yards and either seen me or knew something wasn't right. I went today and only seen two hens and never heard the first gobble. I'll be back after em Sunday.

If anyone would like to team up for a public land hunt....let me know. My schedule is pretty flexible. Good luck guys.

Good luck fellas. I watched my fiancé miss one not long after flydown, then I called another one into the same spot 30 minutes later and killed my second of the season, and got to watch my buddy kill his first later that afternoon too! You don’t get many days like that in the turkey woods and I am beyond thankful.

Just heard one yesterday. Went the opposite way off the roost with his hens. Did the same thing this morning. Heard only one other so far but he was 1/2 mile at least on some other private.

Well my streak continues. Left the area we have been hunting and went in blind to a completely different area today. Nothing on roost but had 2 birds fire up a little later in the morning. After a lot of time in the game we ended up pulling off a double. What a start to the season, I am so thankful. So I’ve got my 3 already, now hunting for upgrades!

Congrats fellas. I’m going back to work a few days.

Congrats to those who have connected so far. I’m after em this morning at the club in Marion County. I’ve heard 6 or 7 different birds already and one out on a cutover at around 150 yards and couldn’t ever get him to come in. He never did gobble. I’m guessing he was just sitting and waiting on a hen to come thru because that’s what ended up happening. I’m now in search for one of the. It’s that was gobbling early. Good luck to those in the woods today.

Saturday and Sunday only heard one both mornings, same bird roosted in the same spot on the property line with his hens. He went to the neighbors both mornings no luck pulling him back. Had business Monday morning and deer hunted them from 12-2 until the rain started. Rain Tuesday.

Now yesterday and today they were on fire. 5 birds yesterday and 4 this morning. Nearly 100 gobbles both mornings but still henned up bad. About normal start to the season for me. Things generally don't improve until the end of the 2nd week in April. Thought it might be different this year with the early warmth and green up. Not so far but at least I'm used to it.

Back at it again tomorrow through Sunday. Still working so usually call it around 9:30 on weekdays.

Counted 80 gobbles from 5 birds this morning. All but one were well off my property. The one on my place was not in the mood at all he gobbled about 10 times all morning and didn't respond once. Hopefully he'll be in the mood tomorrow or Sunday. Rain first of next week and fairly heavy work week.

Got another one this week and helped a friend get his first bird.

I killed one a week or so ago and have a couple more opportunities but they stayed just a little out of range. I also called one in the other afternoon for my oldest. He took took out two trees instead of the bird 😁. That bird didn’t gobble until 6:45 that afternoon and I called him in from around 500 yards out. He didn’t shoot until 7:15. I was really surprised that he even got a shot with it being that late in the day. Then two days ago, I called two different birds in for him and he never shot (said he thought they were to far (one way 30 yards and the other came in to 35 yards) were back at em again today and haven’t heard the first bird. Maybe it’s the weather that has got them tight lipped.

I had one bust me last week at 15 yards and then missed a different one the next day. Since then it has been dead for me, the mid season lull is here.
