Nice. I use the postimage site. Upload your picture then copy the “hotlink for forums” link. Paste in the text box here.

I came mighty, mighty close to getting it done this afternoon. I’m still out here, gonna see if I can see/hear anything fly up to roost. I’ll be back in the morning.

I'll be scouting tonight. Going Saturday, Mon,Tues,Thur,Fri. And Saturday again. If I cannt kill one with all that, then I just need to quit. Lol but I won't cause I love punishment.

I have hunted almost every day this week, it has been rough. Very little gobbling on the roost and even less n the ground. I’ll bet I have covered 20 miles on foot. They are doing their thing I just hope I can get in on the action at some point. Good luck fellas!

Exactly the same here except I’ve hunted EVERY SINGLE freakin day. I was really close Wednesday afternoon. Pulled cards and had two longbeards on two different cameras while I was hunting. We pretty much were on top of each other all afternoon. The gobblers seem to be grouping back up, roosting together, gobbling a little in the tree, then just hanging out minding their own business all day long. Very minimal interest in any calling. Very frustrating seeing as how it’s March 27 and I’m hunting turkeys that are acting like it’s late April.

I'm gonna have a great birthday dinner tonight. And be up early 😴 n am chasing these birds for 5 of next 7 days. Can't wait. Should I try to hunt a bunch of spots and new spots, or stick to one or 2 that I know and just hunt them each day. If I hear a bird, I'll probably stay with him. Hope they gobble in the am.

I’ve been at it all day. Had one get fired up about 9 o’clock but he was a pretty good piece off the property line across a swamp. Called 8 jakes to 30 yds a couple hours ago.

Congrats on the bird.

Been getting my butt handed to me the last couple of days. Can't seem to get on one at all. Hunted hard Friday and never heard a gobble but stayed after them till it got to hot to be in the woods. Changed properties today for a change of luck. Didn't work out. Thought I had it going this morning but ended up calling in a group of 9 Jake's. That may be why I never heard a gobble on a place loaded with birds. I'll be back at them in the morning though. Good luck guys.

Had a strutter and hen in one of my food plots this afternoon. Got set up and got him answering me. A few mins later his hen was at 10 steps, he was nowhere to be found. Fellas I’m not sure what to do anymore. Seasons like this wear on you. Bad.

I went and looked at my logged hunts on my avid turkey hunter survey page. I have logged a hunt (most days 2 hunts) every day except the 23rd.

Finally found a bird willing to act right today but unfortunately I wasn't behind the gun. Got my nephew his first bird this morning.

I got on a hard headed bird Thursday and Friday. He stayed in the tree til 7:30 thursday morning. Gobbled once on the ground and disappeared. Went after him Friday and he was roosted off property so tried to get b/t him and where he roosted thursday. I had the right idea but the next time he gobbled on the ground he passed me farther down the ridge than where I was. I circled around trying to go to where he was roosted and ended up bumping him. That sucker was in the thickest part of the woods. I hunted public land on Saturday. Had a bird pegged there but evidently he vanished. Didn't hear a gobble.

So took me nephew back in after the bird I hunted thursday and friday. Heard him gobble and started making our way to him. The next time we hear a gobble it was closer than what the other sounded so we listened alittle longer and figured out we were between 2 birds. So we get setup and as we do I start hearing drumming. Thought to myself that bird must be closer than I thought he was. So as we're listening to the drumming I'm like that's pretty loud. Then I see a dark spot down the hill from us about 35 yds and I'm thinking surely that's not him. Then I see him stick his head up. We watch him for about 5-6 minutes and he breaks to our left headed to an opening that was a perfect shooting lane. I tell my nephew to get his gun up and he tries to swing to where the turkey was instead of going. Guess he picks up on movement and putts some as he goes back down the hill. He went down a creek some and went to gobbling so I'm figured he was to spooked. As this plays out the other bird hit a clearcut and the rate he was leaving while gobbling I figure he me be in California by now. As I'm sitting there with my head down, I notice I hear gobbling from towards the clearcut that sounds to be getting closer. Figure out there's two birds together so we move down the hill alittle more trying to get closer to creek that they are working down. I thought they were across the creek but wasn't sure. Then my nephew puts eyes on one of them and watches him breed a hen. They are across the creek and keep working down it. We swing around trying to cut them off but they beat us to the spot I wanted to get to. As we are easing up close to the spot, I noticed the birds gobble seems close. So I get us setup right below crest of hill and as I'm getting ready to call some I notice I can hear the rattle in his gobble. Then we hear drumming again. I told my nephew he was close and to get ready b/c when we see him he's going to close and in range. I also tell him to follow the sound of the gobbler b/c he's working towards our left. After scratching in the leaves some I give a few light calls, he gobbles, I cut him off with some cuts and both birds gobble. I go back to scratching in the leaves and soft purrs. Then I see the tip of a tail fan to our left. I told my.nephew I see him to our left about the time he sees him. As he's getting his bead on him the other comes over the hill past him causing him to c9me out of strut. When he does and sticks his head up my nephew lets him have it. I watch the bird fold and as he runs to get it he sees the other gobbler and he flies off. I'm wondering where he's going b/c he passed his bird. So I get up and he's like he flew off. I asked him why he trying to chase a bird when his was laying right there lol. He was excited and it was an exciting hunt.

Now to get back after the bird we first ran into this morning. I never called so I guess he heard us walking and getting setup.so he come to check us out.

Headed back in after one of the other birds we heard Monday morning. Got pics of one yesterday afternoon on a small greenfield so he should be close. Good luck to anyone hunting this morning!

I’m here at the lease where they just don’t gobble. From what I have Seen the gobblers roost with the hens and unless you are real close or one has just lost his mind it is tough. I’ll listen here and go check another spot shortly if nothing is acting right here. Good luck fellas!

First bird in 2 years. Used the hip waders my mom got me last night for my birthday to get in this swamp. He gobbled 100 times snuck within 70 yards of his roost by accident. Watched him and a hen fly down. Went and sat where they met up on a small island in this water. Called soft and about 15 minutes later he gobbled to my left and I watch him walk in to about 20 yards.
