For the year? What do yall think. How many of yall are itching to plant summer plots: ic peas, buckwheat, etc? Seems like were about a month ahead. Is it just a trick?

Or corn or cotton or soybeans. Itching yes. But being patient. Lots of our main corn varieties are very tight in supply. We only got one shot to hit it right. April can be brutal cold too. It just isn’t right quite yet

I thought about planting some stuff but as much as I hate to do it I'd rather wait so I don't have to do it twice 😃 I don't mind sitting on tractor but the push plow and fertilize by hand gets old quick

I haven’t even checked due to it being too wet anyway. But it can’t be very warm at all

The cold fronts sure havent been getting too cold these past couple cold waves. I know that is subject to change but it sure feels like spring.

Pecan trees are budding here so supposedly that means cold weather is over

I’ve broken some ground the past two days. Both are on high spots but haven’t been planted in decades. My normal spots need 2-3 weeks of zero rain before I even think about getting a tractor in the field. I’ve got crawdad holes 100+ yards from the creek in my fields. You can see water standing in most.

You’re thinking about dogwood winter. Blackberry winter is way up into May and It doesn’t freeze. Dogwood winter is usually within a few days either way of Easter but I have a feeling that this spring is gonna be very mild.

I am trying to break ground on the stuff that I can do now. Really hope to get the corn in the ground around good friday as that usually works well for me. I have tomatoes on the porch, and they will stay there for a few weeks but they will be getting some sun and warm when I can. My corn last year was a complete dud, really need a good year here.
