I’ve been on a cheap bourbon kick here lately. Four Roses and Old Forester.

Nothing wrong with buffalo trace. Not the best but certainly not the worst either, especially for the price.

Probably not a good idea to confess, on a public forum, to transportation of interstate booze. 😲

Those of you with a bottle of Buffalo Trace at home that you're not a fan of, just send it my way and I'll give it a loving home where it will be appreciated and cared for.

The great thing about bourbon is there are so many choices to fit everyone's pallet if they choose. I tend to enjoy higher rye bourbons and not wheat bourbons. Which is a conundrum for me because I feel like I am missing out on a lot of the so-called best bourbons. I like Buffalo Trace, Four Roses Single Barrel, and WT101 si the best budget bourbon there is for me. I drink it neat often. A couple of months ago I thought I hit the jackpot when I found both Blanton's and Buffalo Trace at the same store. I was excited to try the Blanton's after hearing all the hype. I was disappointed in the Blanton's. I am not a fan.

Let's put it this way..... the day I saw Evil Evan start becoming something other a well drink I knew that stupidity was coming home to roost.
When you get into this single barrel pissing contest the consistency goes out the window. You can get a bottle that is good or bad or better or worse from any of these labels. They are just separating you from your money as you take a chance.
Batch to Batch consistency has always favored Jack Daniels in my opinion. A good bottle of single barrel select Tennessee Whiskey can almost not be beat. Blanton's has nothing on it. The Sinatra is about as good as it comes.
Buffalo Trace is New Orleans gutter hooch. The neon crap you see on Bourbon Street at about 8:30AM that looks like toxic-waste that leaves you wondering what the hail it is and how it even got there.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

I've got a friend that swears by Mitchner. he's generally a basil hayden's/bulliet drinker, so I'm assuming it is close in flavor....I'm not a bourbon guy. the balvenie in the back of doekiller's pic is more in my bandwidth!
experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....

I've tried several and I keep coming back to the Crown. Just a little crown on the rocks and I'm good. Crown taste like chit that's why they introduced the Apple & Peach and that disgusting Maple chit 😀 And crown is a Canadian whisky, not bourbon.

I’ve had a LOT of different bourbon here lately due to a very good friend saving me some out of each bottle. Every bite is different for sure, some taste better on different nights. That white label Jim Beam is not bad at all to me. Buffalo Trace is young tasting and not smooth to me, but I don’t really care for Maker’s Mark either. For me, Rye is where it’s at. Tastes like licorice and cloves and I enjoy it. Rittenhouse and knob creek are good. I like the lower proof stuff. Weller green is good, but way overpriced. Old Ezra 7 is my buddy’s favorite and I can hardly drink it (too high proof). If you’re ever in Kentucky pick up some Heaven Hill green and white label. Some of the best I’ve ever had, just a simple sweet charred taste and CHeAP. I actually picked up a bottle of Propper 12 and it tastes like a mix of rye, Canadian whisky and vanilla. It’s actually ok. Had to try it...... Carry on
