Once upon a time I knew a feller that was in business a little left of the law. He never cleaned his vehicle out. Weeks and weeks worth of McDonalds sacks were his cash stash system. His wife's car broke down one day. She borrowed his and cleaned it out. $18K was never seen again. Not long afterwards he was in Club Fed.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

So I think that's a plausible location, but there is one major difference/obstacle, the trash isn't in a regular curbside bin.
We've got a huge industrial compactor.
I'm so fed up with the entire situation I haven't bothered to go dig through the nasty compactor.

Here's the life lessons I've learned.
Homeownership is a real son of a bitch
I CANNOT be trusted with cash and especially not large quantities.
I should have just left the concrete subfloor and dealt with replacing the floors when I eventually move out of the condo.

Not to derail the thread but it reminds me of a story that my Grand father in law told me about his brother (my wifes great uncle). I've always thought he may have affiliation with the Mob.

Back years ago, The brother, Who was a successful man in Chicago (he had a marina in chicago, a restaurant on the river with a bar and gambling in the back). Anyways, he made ALOT of money from the gambling in the back of the bar. Undocumented money. He loaded up enough money in the Trunk of his new convertible Impala that he had just bought, paid cash for and etc and drove to the coast of Florida. He was buying a house on the Coast....Anyways, he parked his car in the drive way of the house he was gonna buy. Left the money in the trunk of the car overnight. He came back the next morning and the car was setting on blocks where someone had stolen the wheels and tires off of the car. His heart sank. Lucky for him the criminals weren't to bad of guys and didn't ransack the car. Otherwise they would have opened that trunk and would have got the biggest pay day they could have hoped for.

I always told my wife that I think her Great Uncle has ties to the mob. He sold his marina in Chicago for a gazillion dollars. Recently he owned a marina in Florida on the coast. Sold it for a gazillion dollars. No reason that a man owns several Marinas across the country. Restaurant Bars with illegal gambling in the back( legal gambling now) and etc unless he is mob. It's always been a cool thought to me

I always have a little cash on hand. Have stressed to our kids to have a little bit at all times for emergencies.
