I have used a pop up camper to hunt out of for the last ten years or so. I have decided to buy a cargo trailer and convert it into a camper. Have any of you done this and if so could you share some pictures of your camper?

One of the guys I hunt with has slept in his a few times. He didn’t do anything fancy though. Just threw a cot inside, mounted a few battery powered lights, and ran an extension cord inside to power an electric heater, and mounted a door hook lock on the inside to keep his door shut

Another thing I like about this idea is you would always be ready to go. You could just keep all your hunting clothes and supplies locked up in the trailer and when you’re ready to go to hunting camp just hook up and take off. I think this would be great for someone who has 2 or more hunting leases/clubs/properties

Remove exterior door latches, so your drunk buddies can't lock you up.

My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

Older buddy has one. He's installed shower, toilet, sink, propain fridge and water heater as well, a wall heater. AC unit. Bed. No windows.
Told him he'd been better off with a camper but proclaims he hates campers.

Theres a problem with trhat idea. Most hunting camps don't have sewage set up for campers and enclosed trailers are too low to the ground to be able to install sewage holding tank like a camer. Best advice is buy an old one and remodel, An 18- 210 ft should be as cheap or cheaper than buying an enclosed. Of course you could buy a portable sewage tank to haul around and the fun of finding a place to empty it. An enclosed trailer has No insulation either.

Thomas Jefferson. The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Life is too short to only hunt and fish on weekends!

If being a dumbass was fatal some of you would be on your death bed!

Don’t know about y’all. But I’ve never hauled a 210 ft trailer. That’s gotta be nerve wrecking.

This here is Aldeer.

I haul a 210ft trailer with a 4cyl Tacoma on Gripspurs up Mount Everest every weekend laugh

If you ever saw a camper being manufactured, you'd want to build your own as well. Those cargo conversions, will be better than just about any travel trailer you can buy.

100% the truth.
Most RVs/campers are built from chewing gum, cardboard, duct tape and zipties.

A truly GOOD RV seems to be the exception to the rule but $$$$. Tiffin, Airstream, Prevost and Grand Design I've heard good things about

It wouldn’t be hard to insulate. And not everyone needs sewage. We don’t have running water where I hunt. We Use an out house and bring our own water for cleaning/cooking/drinking.

Our camp has a bath house and most of the public land that I hunt have bathrooms with showers so I wont be needing sewage or water. I do all my cooking outside so that my clothes don't smell like food so I won't be installing a stove. Mine will be pretty basic. It will be a fold up bed, a couch, shelving, several cabinets for storage, an ac/heater and lighting, a tv and a small fridge.

A cargo trailer is an oven without good insulation. I put 2" of Polyiso from Home Depot in a cargo trailer and it was easy to heat and cool from then on.

You can buy cheaper insulation, but I wanted the best I could find.

I have one that I have used for years. Very simple. Sleeps well. Beats the hell out of a tent. 6x10 plus 2ft v nose. Not a bunch of room, but does exactly what it’s supposed to. Wired 30 amp breaker, or can be plugged into a generator of regular house outlet. Roof top ac. I use a little electric box heater with a thermostat to warm it. Keeps you toasty. Stayed in it down to single digits with snow. Bed is two pieces that fold down from each side. Makes a king size bed. I use air mattress’s with a memory foam pad on top. It’s basically a poor mans toy hauler.
