I’ve worn a bunch of different ones and here’s my take

Dickies: pretty good. Have several pairs, durable and last a long time, but hate the little pockets. I can’t get my hand in my pocket past my knife and they are really shallow, so that’s a negative.

Wrangler Riggs: really good, pockets are big and deep, which is a big deal for me. I carry a lot of stuff every day. The side pockets are a little shallow and I tend to lose my stuff. I like to carry a stylus streamlight a ncv tester and pencil in that pocket. Also wear holes in them fairly fast, but are very comfortable.

Schmidt (TSC brand) are some of my favorite. Big deep pockets, cut right to fit and last a long time. Also fairly cheap. Probably what I’d recommend.

All that being said, we now wear Carharrt FR at work and it’s a game changer. The jeans are the best I’ve worn, from the pockets to the cut and how comfortable they are. The down side is, if you were buying these, they are over $100 a pair, but no FR is cheap and most folks don’t need FR.

The I&E guys wear Ariat shirts, jeans and jackets. It’s very nice stuff, but it’s also FR.

I am a millwright, we can rent carharts from Cintas at my place of employment. Been doing that for years never had any of the issues that y'all speak of with the carharts y'all have bought. But I will say until recently they have swapped their material to a lighter fabric those are not as good. Around here you can find the folks selling 2nds of the carhart rental cloths that are around 11oz. that is ones you want tough enough to last but not heavy. Get wet they dry in a hour or 2.

Tractor Supply brand for the $ is hard to beat. I caught them on sale a few months ago and stocked up.

Tractor Supply put in a new line that is called "Ridgecut".

Pants and shirts.

I love the pants.

Maybe one of the best I have worn.

Have not tried the shirts yet.

I bought a pair of carhartt pants and hoodie yesterday. Wearing them today and so far everything is good. I am a big fan of Carhartt clothing. I also like Duluth, but for the money I will stick with Carhartt. I have wanted to try TSC, but they are always sold out in my size.

Rural King in Huntsville has a line of pants that’s really good. I don’t know what the brand is, it’s just there store brand. I Bought one pair to try out and plan on buying more when I go back. Think there $15 bucks a pair.

Go to Duluth Tradings website then the sale section. Look until you catch the firehose flex pants on sale. They are worth the sale price and you will want more. The material is kinda quick drying too.

Just to jump in. My buddy that is working around agriculture chemicals and fertilizers daily wears Dickey's. They seem to hold up well. He burns through boots pretty darn quick though.

I went to the new Duluth trading store the other day. Im really tempted to try some of their canvas pants and see how they hold up but they are not cheap. Only way I buy from duluth is when they run the online sales. 20-50% off

I bought several pair of double knee Riggs work jeans for $10/pair at the Wrangler /Vanity Fair outlet store at Grand River in Leeds a couple of years ago. Not sure if they still have them. Like any outlet if they have what you want get em then.

Wore Carhartt's until I found the Schmidt's at Tractor Supply . TSC Blue Mountain are good, lightweight and comfortable but not as sturdy as Schmidt.

Duluth. Expensive but well worth it. I have 5 pair and are just about the only pants I wear now.

I ordered 5 pair of these the other day for work pants. The color is a little off but they are durable double knees and straddle, rip stop and pretty cool in the summer. I cut the waist adjusters off so they work better with a belt and they work pretty good.

This! These are very sturdy pants. The others I suggest are the 5.11s. Pretty much all I wear since I have 6-7 pairs from my work days and they are going strong. The difference is the Duluth Trading Fire Hose pants are thicker and heavier. I imagine they would hold up well in the outdoors.

Be warned though both of these are not cheap pants. I don't want you to get sticker shock.
