This camp means more to me than anything on earth. My grandfather built it up high on stilts down off the Tombigbee river on a creek...just pray it doesn’t flood it.. River is still going up and we would lose everything including stuff of my grandfather’s that will never be replaced. Picture doesn’t do it justice with how high it is there. Never seen it flood past a couple of the steps until now.

Where is the camp? My dad use to have a camp house in epes years ago on the Tombigbee. He had it on stilts. Only flood I remember actually getting in it was 1979. Hope it’s starting to recede and spares your camp

Can you not get a flat bottom in there and get stuff out of the building?

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

I hope it doesn’t get in but i wouldn’t count on it, it’s rained all day here in talladega county. I’d try to get a boat in there and get the important stuff out just in case.

Yeah c’mon. Daniel White

I'd bet there is somebody close to where you live who would drop a duck boat in and go help yall retrieve your stuff before it's too late. Where are you located?

It's getting real Bad down here man! Sure hope it's spared. We don't have to worry about our camps at the Bend, but our docks are under about 3' feet of water right now.

I’m guessing that I’ve got some ground blinds and feeders that were in the Catoma Creek swamp and is now in the Alabama River. It can be replaced. But losing a family camp that my granddaddy built would be tough to lose. Hope it gets better soon.

Check the projected crest on the National Weather Service river levels page for your area.

It will rise a little bit from the projection, but hopefully it won't be in the cabin. Definitely won't be the '79 level. You'll be good. Always keep things of value either out of that camp or up at least 5' off the floor. My 2 cents.

I think I’ve seen that camp before. You cross a Weyerhaeuser tract to get back there?

It’s bad on these two big rivers. The water next to Hwy 10 at the Tombigbee crossing is something to see right now.
