Anybody ever hunt Wisconsin public land? I don't wanna know anybody's spots, I will find turkeys....I'm just curious if one zone is better than another. Mainly wanna go to the least crowded place possible.... looking at Zone 3 right now. I think we are gonna hunt May 15th-20th

I’d start by finding out where Pinhoti and the Primos guys were. And start within an hour of there.

They showed an episode of Dave meeting the primos guys in a wal mart parking lot.

With google street view a guy could find it easily.

While a good idea, I don't get down like that....I was just curious about a zone as a whole....I'd rather find the turkeys myself. Thank you for the responce though!

We hunted out of Wautoma last year. Lots of turkeys but lots of turkey hunters also and the birds were spooky. They knew where private land was and you'd rarely catch one hanging out on public so you know they'd seen lots of pressure.

I'll be glad to share area information but if I go back I'll be looking further North into some of the larger forest areas.

Should be illegal to pimp out public hunting for profit (if there even is any). These YouTube hunting guys need to think hard about what they are doing to the resource.........it’s not worth it. Keep it secret safe and just enjoy hunting -killing turkeys. No need to broadcast it for the mouth breathing non-killers to flock up

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

Pretty obvious where a lot of them do/they sure ain’t careful about hiding it...hence catman ruining some Tennessee public land and all...these suburban hunters are just as dumb though I like the vids (seek1 and the bham guy with his spots if he continues to grow his channel)

No he’s not.
These YouTube guys are doing more damage than most hunters either realize or want to admit.

I’m not kidding.......when you’ve been traveling and hunting every spring for years it’s irritating to watch people try and make it the new fad. We’ve watched duck hunting implode before our eyes over the same asshatery. It’s not worth it.......especially if your not making any real money.

The way I see it, whether they know how to hunt or not, their tax dollars care for the place and they bought a license just like you did.....I've been Turkey hunting 26yrs and it's my biggest passion in life, but it's just as much someone who's never been right to go as it is mine. I try to avoid people on public land but I'm confident enough in my ability that them being there doesn't bother me.

I can promise you, if I go somewhere that has turkeys and don't kill one, the weekend warriors or rookie hunters ain't gonna be my excuse why I didn't.

You will learn one of these days. Wether your making money, nailing best looking girl in town, killing big deer, or stacking turkeys like cord wood.......keeping your mouth shut is best move you can make if you want to continue doing so. Bet that

Gobl4me he can’t see the forest for the trees. I’ve already seen what some of these YouTube channels have done to a couple particular areas I hunt. You let a seasoned turkey hunter know where good turkey hunting is and you can’t bet you will have a lot more company than previously. I was a slow learner but finally the light switch flipped. That is why you no longer see me post on here or anywhere else about how my season went. To many eyes and ears looking these days for that little bit of information that will point them in the right direction.

It’s definitely frowned upon to criticize this craze for some reason.

My thing is...you don't like them doing it, that's fine....but what makes you think they don't have the right to do it? Or that you have more right to be there than they do? They're doing what they love, who cares.... I'm all for it! Just like Dave Owens... I wish them the best and hope he continues for many years to come!

If they wanna tell people where they are hunting, that's their business....and if it just so happens to be where you hunt and you don't like it, lease some private ground. But as long as you hunt public that's just part of it, and it comes with the territory.

I had to re-read all the comments, but nobody once said that. I think the general consensus is that it’s a dumb idea. And while I’m fairly neutral, that part is pretty hard to argue in the long run.

The craze over public land didn't start with YouTube hunters posting videos. Yes they've drawn attention to areas but the increased number of hunters would've spilled over into these areas anyway.

Not only are there more hunters now than ever but there are an incredible amount of hunters who travel every year hunting. I started hunting in Missouri in the mid nineties and the public land there was already crowded.
