catch it at work?? I always cringe when someone comes to work sick...they usually pass it around the office! I can't get one girl to understand to STAY HOME IF YOU'RE SICK, WE DON'T WANT IT!! her excuse is that she feels guilty missing work....but not about passing sickness around the office, though.
I'm still amazed that my wife isn't sick more often, as often as she is in dr offices with sick people waiting to be seen. she's in the equipment side of sales, but still has to wait in the same areas as sick people, to see the dr.
I hope the meds kick in soon for some relief....flu SUCKS!!

I hope the meds kick in soon for some relief....flu SUCKS!! For some, it is about not being able to afford missing a day's pay from the paycheck. Not all jobs provide paid sick days. I, also, read that you can be contagious before you have any symptoms of the flu so you do not know that you might be sick and need to quarantine yourself.

I understand all that...I'm talking about walking through the door looking like hell and hacking/snorting/sneezing all over the office. STAY HOME or go to the park or anywhere besides where you'll infect the rest of the office so half the office out a week later and production is at zilch...and you're at the office wondering how everybody else got sick and why they're at home, instead of "powering" through it like you did. some people have zero EQ aka, self awareness.
experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....

A couple weeks ago it hit us hard so my kids missed most of a week of school, and then my boys got round two of it this week. They missed a lot of school. Now the damn school is fussing about truancy because I had the decency to keep them home. The County school board has a message posted to keep sick kids at home, but they are now not accepting written excuses from parents, it has to be from a doctor. So, if I take all three boys to the doctor at $40 a co-pay, and my time off work, just to be told to give them motrin and tylenol and drink fluids, so I can get a doctor's excuse that actually causes serious undo hardship to my family in the pocket-book.
Next time they get sick, I am going to send them to school and when the nurse calls I am going to tell her to keep them at the school and let the principal take them home in their personal vehicle.

Just like city hall, you can't fight the Board of Education. To fight their rules, they have to make sense in the first place.

B. Man if A is from the devil then I’d just need to go ahead and let them bury me. It’s the dang cough that is so bad, I have coughed so much that my throat feels like it’s on fire when I cough. I am hopeful a weekend of doing nothing and taking the meds will kick it. I just rarely ever get sick and this has been awful. I had a 104° fever for 6 days with A. Literally thought I would die. With B it was like a bad cold for about 2 days and felt 90% after 4 or 5 days. I never got a terrible cough though with either which would make both seem much worse.

The fever and the damn lethargy is what took us down. I think through the entire cycle of it I was only good enough to do anything for an hour or so a day. I felt guilty for being so pathetic.

last time i had it i was in bed a week and lost 15 pound seriously thought I might die. I roll my eyes when I run into people walking around saying they have the flu most doctors are handing out tamiflu like candy for anyone with cold like symptoms during flu season. I personally would not take the antibiotics save them for a future sinus infection or something the flu is a virus antibiotics have 0 effect on it the tamiflu is tge only thing that may help but only if you started it early enough it completely kept me from even getting sick one year my son tested + for flu I notice a mild night sweat went straight to doctor with no symptons tested + started taking tamiflu and never had much more than a cough.

One guy was acting real sluggish all day, and at one point he bends over with his hands on his knees and says, “Man, this damn flu has got me down.” I said wth did you just say? Take your stupid arse home.
