Looking fer the cheapest way to do a shower at the river house. Half bath shower so it wont be very big. Looked at the shower kits but hard to find one in the size i would need.

Fiberglass is your friend here. Low maintenance and will not fail if you get a solid unit.

You can buy some plastic/fiberglass panels at Lowes. 4x8 sheets. We use it on reefer trailer wall repair. For the life of me I can't remember what it's called. A shower pan and some of that on the walls would be pretty cheap.

Shower ideas: Daily to start with. Lol. All tile showers leak eventually. Go with a solid prefab fiberglass model. I have one of those kits in my lake house and it don’t leak after 15 years but it don’t get used a lot. I would go solid because it can’t leak unless it’s around the drain. Gonna disagree with you on all tile showers leaking. There are a few small things that installers skip that can make a shower last for decades.

Unless you love all the porus grout that holds moisture and produces mold. I cant believe they even make grout. Muchless use it aroubd moisture.

Porcine tile is impervious to water and will not fade. Natural stone will mold in a shower because it had water flowing through it since the beginning of time...it has no place in a shower. There's a $45 mix in grout sealer that makes a world of difference or you can use an epoxy grout that is guaranteed to never fade ,crack or absorb water. A lot of these newer houses' shower's where installed by a random drunk or a Mexican that dosen't know his butt from a hole in the ground. I see pathetic shower installs all the time but it keeps me in business.

We are about to do the tile walls in our cabin bathroom. I don't mind paying for solid advice if I need to.
