that's the same hinge the little plastic dowel is just an anchor used in prefab cabinets take it off the screw its attached to and tap it back into the cabinet box with a little wood glue to hold it better and use the lowes hinge Plastic dowel is just an "anchor used in prefab cabinets" You lost me there......

they drill a hole and install those plastic anchors in the door in some prefab brands just like installing a sheetrock anchor it keeps from splitting the wood when installing the hinges

It's actually on the hinge. You turn it about a half turn to lock it in place. Guy said the base plate is what breaks and you probably can't buy it locally. I just had one broke. Hope I know where the extras are when the next one breaks.
