Coach Calvin was at Austin when I played at Hartselle and always was someone I respected from afar as a tough, hard-nosed, fair coach and good man. His teams always were well prepared and played hard. The year they were winless but beat Decatur in the finale, I think in 1982, was a great moment. Anytime the River Rats lose is a great.

Must have been 81. They were 10 and 2 in 82. I agree about the river rats..we never did. We did go 6-4 my senior year. With only 9 seniors. Calvin's 2nd year at AHS.
