Anybody see this? I only have 1 Nikon shotgun scope but was thinking about putting a new scope on my 30-06 to replace the 20yr old Bushnell. Guess I won’t be going Nikon, will stick with Leupold. Nikon
Finally deported myself from the peoples republik of Kaliforkistan.

Yes That’s why everyone is blowing out Nikon scopes right now. Goodluck with future warranty work if needed.

Don t know bout yall but i read in that story that nikon don t want anything to do with guns an things that guns kill. Don t want there scopes to be in any pics with dead animals. They are caving to the leftwing liberal nutcases. Glad i don t have any nikons an for sure won t be buying any now. They think if a rifle has a nikon scope on it an someone shoots someone with it they could be liable. Unfreaking believable!!! Thats what i read into that story

Never had a Nikon scope, never will. Same here. They are a camera company that doesn’t really like hunters to start with

That's disgusting news. I'm very happy with the performance of my Monarch. I dinged it up pretty good in a fall last year but it didn't affect it other than looks. The fact that the eye bell is no longer perfectly round doesn't seem to matter unless it affects light transmission. If so, it isn't enough to notice. It didn't even change the point of impact. I was going to replace it with another Nikon. I guess I'll have to go with another brand now. So, in roughly the same price range what do y'all suggest? I guess I could go spend $1,000.00 or more on a scope, but I don't see enough difference in a good scope and a much more expensive scope to pay the difference. Blast me now but while you're at it, what are some good moderately priced scopes? Try a Leupold VX3i.

nikon could care less about their american customers. they sold alot of scopes and now they get out of honoring the lifetime warrenty while the company is alive and well. Warranties will be honored. I'm guessing they will be contracted out i dunno just a guess, but fyi several companies already do just that........

There seems to be no validity to the "caving to the anti hunting / anti gun crowd" narrative. Some of the more legitimate reports I've read indicated that Nikon overall is in less than pretty financial position, and that rifle scopes was a not-so-necessary product line for them globally, so it got the axe.
As for buying them, at this point you're only boycotting the end sellers, the outdoors retailers. They make a fine product for the money, and some of the prices I've seen make it crazy NOT to buy one. Nikon says they will still honor all warranties on scopes.
I bought a Monarch 2.5-10x50 back at Christmas for $259 w/ free shipping. Yes, it was a discontinued model, but still it was a $569 scope (and tons of retail places still advertise it for that price)
We were on the edge of Eternia, when the power of Greyskull began to take hold.
