Once upon a time lawyer A ran an ad stating he was the best lawyer ever, lawyer B took offense because he felt he was the best lawyer ever and filed suit against lawyer A. Lawyer A and Lawyer B meet in front of Lawyer C also known as the Judge and they agreed it was in the best interest of all lawyers to not claim any one individual lawyer better than another. The bar folks decided that lawyers should at least give the appearance of having a little more dignity than used car salesmen so that’s why it is there. Every billboard that you see will have that language at the bottom in small print.

Here is how it was explained to me a long time ago...
Technically, the facts of a case don't change due to who the lawyer is or isn't. So technically no lawyer can be better than the other.
We all know it's crap in the real world but makes sense in some way...barely.

Cuz none of em are worth a chit That’s a little harsh given the different types of law attorneys practice. The ends of the spectrum from an ambulance chaser to real estate attorney isn't even close. And there’s a buttload in between those. And no, I’m not an attorney.
