One just ran in here an asked if I’d turn the lights out in his bedroom. Why can’t he turn them out and then get in bed? Because he’s scared of his own shadow... but we go camping and both of them want to go exploring out in the woods after dark... by themselves. Ain’t scared of a thing in the dark woods, but terrified in his bedroom. I just don’t get it. Even as a little feller , like 5 or 6, he’d want to wonder out in the dark as we walked to or from our stand or went camping. Zero fear. Anybody else like that?

I've always felt more at home outside than inside. Think I understand.

Awe come on ! You know the boogerman lives under the bed ! No bed outside ! Be content in the fact that you have them !

I blame it on the crap they are exposed to on a daily basis. T.V and internet are way out there. When then they should be scared to go outside with all the zombies and stuff 🤣🤣🤣

When I was a kid my parents would be gone to work before daylight, leaving me to wait on the school bus IN THE DARK!!!!! Aint no way I was staying in that house by myself in the dark. As soon as they were gone I was OUTSIDE. I fully understand your boys.

My boys do the same thing. They go play on the playground in total darkness all night but have to have a nightlight on in the bedroom.

lol my wife still jumps 5 foot from the bed to get up at night to use the bathroom like something is gonna grab her and pull her under lol Im not allowed to sleep with a gun in the nightstand either because I have PTSD dreams and wake up fighting the air and looking for "it" around the room no telling how many times ive flipped my wife off the mattress or yanked the covers across the room yelling "where'd it go get up!" i woke up once beating her with a pillow she did not find it amusing. lol takes me 4 or 5 seconds to realize i was dreaming.

Bigbamaboy-We’re all different, and have things that freak us out...just love them boys and lettem know you’re there for them. GKelly-Hang in there man...I totally feel where you’re coming from. My 16-yr-old only child committed suicide back in October, and those bad dreams can be tough. It always seems to help me to “unwind and slow down” about an hour or so before I crash...and make a deal with myself to deal with those thoughts at either 9 or 10 am tomorrow...and stick to it. Hang in there man. There’s all sorts of PTSD, and I thank you for your service man. -Butchman205

I don’t take my boys for granted. I make certain a day doesn’t go by that I don’t hug them and tell them I love them.
