May want to tell them to look at a kubota also. I bought a 2019 M6060 4x4 with loader back in October and have been very happy with it so far.

5075 E would be plenty. That r is compact and ruff riding. The M would be over kill. The 5075 E has a more user friendly cab. How much bush hogging has to be done. The hydraulic transmission on an R is great but they aren't built as strong as a utility tractor. But I would buy the M over the R all day.

It be's that way sometimes.

I don't like the new plastic John Deere tractors so I'll hold my comments

Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

I use a 5103 (50hp) 2x4 almost everyday. It usually does what I need it to do (put out hay, bushhog etc...). I know the E series is lighter than the M series, but I would be tickled to death to be able to afford an E series, but if I had the $, I would definitely buy the M series. Now, saying all that, my brother-in law has a new 4066M 4x4 and I wouldn't trade my older 5103 for his. His has 98hrs and was put in the shop last month to replace whatever tore up that cost about 5grand to fix and it's just too light of a tractor comparied to a 5000 Deere.

The OP asked about JD, however I agree . If I were in the market today for a Utility tractor I'd be really serious about the Kubota linked below. And I'm a 4X4 JD 5205 owner , but they don't make them like that anymore.

Agreed. We have a 5103 2wd and a 5300 2wd, they do everything I need to do mostly well. Both being 2wd suck at feeding hay in the winter slop and the 5103 will get stuck on wet grass. Even with calcium chloride in the rear tires it just ain't heavy enough for loader work but makes a dang fine rake tractor. The 5300 is my work horse. I think my next one will be about 80-90 hp and 4wd. There is no way a 4000 series would suffice for more than gentleman farm/garden work and probably planting food plots.
